Audi A4 2003 Saloon - Poor Radio Reception - Steveieb

Has anyone had any sucess in repairing the radio aerial amplifier fitted to the rear screen of the saloon version of the A4.

I have noticed that there is a crack across the plastic case of the amplifier near the connectors.

The fix on the Audi website involves fitting bulldog clips to squeeze the case and hence improve the connections on the PCB.

But there is not sufficient room to clip the unit back in the fixings.

Grateful your advice

Cheers

If its possible to replace the amplifier I would get one from a scrap yard. I was a TV engineer for 50 years but I don't understand modern electronics, there don't seem to be many people who do.

Thanks for your advise.

But I notice from the Audi forums that the problem may lie in the contact with the rear window and someone suggested soldering a piece of wire to the amplifier centre pin to act as an antenna.

Has any one had any success with this fix?
