Someone must want this. I have no connection with it. www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C497377 Read more
So, I've got a Ford Focus estate, and the radio itself (6000CD) is working fine. However it is failing to connect with anything it seems. It has an auxillery input in the centre armrest, but no sound transmits. There's a usb port which I can plug my ipod into, and when i do the ipod tells me I am connected fo Ford Audio, but I can do nothing with it on the console. Finally, if I try and connect my phone via bluetooth it finds the Ford Audio, but when I select no code comes up on the screen. Typing 0000 or 1234 doesn't bring the correct code out either.
Any ideas? Read more
Thanks for the tip. I've tried it but unfortunately nothing changed. I've also noticed the voice control is not working. When I press the voice button "voice" comes up on the radio display, but there is no beep to signal it is ready, and nothing happens when I issue a command.
I know the voice and bluetooth is run out of the same box, which may perhaps be faulty, but that doesn't explain the aux issue
Those who drive may care to comment on this letter I just sent to Citroen UK:

A wide range of cars have xenons as standard or optional equipment. Just check the brochures. Try to choose bi-xenon if you can (that way you're getting a xenon high beam as well as dip, though it's more of an advantage with the higher power [read faster] versions).
Hi All,
need a bit of advice, I have a 52 plate fiesta 1.25L. 2 months ago it was over heating regularly so I put some K Seal in the Radiatior coolant which resolved the issue. however now there is steam and a hissing noise coming from the radiator coolant screwcap. There is also the same steam coming from the back of the engine cover and a grim smell. The car isn't overheating though... Read more
Last fezbomb I worked on required a new HCV but yours sounds like a head gasket issue.Remember that water temp gauge will give a false reading if sender unit is not immersed in coolant mix.
Look for leaking hoses.....is the smell the sickly sweet antifreeze type or other?
I have this strange rattling sound coming from the front offside wheel area, it's more obvious when I go over small bumps in the road. I notice that if I brake gently it stops the rattle, also after I brake I get a slight pad rubbing, maybe this is connected?
I've had the wheel off but couldn't see any problems except the disc moves a bit, I assume the disk is held tight by the wheel nuts?... Read more
As you say, the disc is held on by only the wheel nuts. It really is a simple job to change discs and pads on these - even I can do it! Just jack it up, take the wheel off and have a push-and-pull at all the bits. When the discs and pads were changed, the chap doing it should have taken out the two slide pins (take out the rubber plug covers over the two pins and use an Allen key, can't remember the size, down the hole. Do 'em one at a time so it doesn't all come apart) and cleaned them so that the caliper slides freely. 'Appen garages won't do that because it takes too long, which is why you're better off doing the job yourself. And you'll need a 13mm socket to undo the two caliper fixing bolts. The rattle you report isn't a common fault, so only getting down and dirty is going to find out what's wrong.
I've removed the radio from my Mondeo. I did this quite some time ago. I tried to start it yesterday and it wouldn't start. Knowing how "clever" todays cars can be it crossed my mind whether removing the radio would prevent my car from starting, or is it just pure coincidence and likely to be something else completely?
Does anyone happen to know, please? Read more
As stated removing the radio will not cause lack of starting, strangely enough, fitting the wrong radio can cause problems, I had a C5 with an aftermarket radio, it worked OK but ran the battery down in about 24 hours because it kept switching on the management ECU.
In April of this year, my wife bought a new Fiat Panda 1.2 “Lounge” (petrol) having so much enjoyed driving her previous Panda. However, the new version has proved to be a great disappointment due to its performance, or rather the lack of it!! When pulling away in first gear, the car behaves as if there is a “flat spot’ and there is uncertainty as to whether the car will accelerate or not. Then, when changing up into second gear, the car is very reluctant to accelerate; on other occasions, the car accelerates of its own free will. I am aware of other owners who have the same complaints about this engine as fitted to the “Panda” and “500”, some of whose cars have had the ECU re-mapped by Fiat. Despite offering this service to some owners, Fiat Customer Services will not accept that there is a fault with this engine and simply say that it will be different to previous versions, due to the need to comply with EU Emissions Regulation 6. They then refer me to my main dealer for, “tuition in the use of the clutch and accelerator”. In turn, my main dealer has test driven the car on two occasions and tells me “it drives like all other Pandas.” I’m not sure whether that should give me comfort or even greater concern! Perhaps you can investigate why Fiat offer ECU remapping to some owners but not others, being tacit acceptance that there is a problem with some, if not all, of their latest 1.2 petrol engines. Absolutely the same problem and experience here too!
Previous new Panda bought for eldest daughter is fantastic in all respects. We use it more than our own cars as it is such fun....

I suspect that's your problem. Could the rear springs have been replaced with something stiffer? Has it a tow bar, or evidence of it once having one? Spring assisters?...
