You've maybe got sorted out by now, I just noticed somebody recommended a Corsa Automatic. A few years ago my mother bought a 1 year old a 1.4 Corsa auto that was only had 9,000 miles on the clock. It was nothing but trouble, the trouble was with the auto box. Sometimes the lever would just jam in park position and it wouldn't move, and she was marooned. It did it in petrol station once. It would clear itself after time starting and stopping the engine. It went to Vauxhall on two occasions and they hadn't a clue. In the end she got shot for a manual Hyundai i10 manual. Maybe just unlucky but I'd stay well clear. Prior to that she had a mk1 1.6 auto Focus for several years and that was a faultless car. I've got a Mitsubishi Colt 1.3 CZ2 and it's been faultless, and they are cheap to buy, but I wouldn't know about the automatic version.

Just changed my address with my insurance company, (now in 3rd year with them and staying competitive, and also have house insurance with them, which is also still competitive, and surprised to be told " NO CHARGE" for change of address. premium dropped at last change of adress and this time, on return to old adress, no extra premium either, or admin charge. My last insurance company charged me £52 admin fee to change the address, That was the last business they got from me.

The funny part was, when I told him it was a bit steep he said "count yourself lucky, some companies charge £53"

Have been offered a nice example of the above pickup with the crew cab.(Warrior spec)

It has had an engine change and the replacement has done 70 k altogether with a new clutch fitted some 12 months ago.... Read more

I think some previous moderator objected to the word d r i v e l. I wouldn't have worried myself, but the software only lets us add words to the filter, not remove them!

When we purchased the vehicle we were advised to take out the Wms 5 star warrantee and a cost of over £700. Recently the air suspension has failed a common fault.. Guess what not covered as the compressor is still working but not reaching correct pressure.. Warrantee no worth the paper it's written on !! Please be careful on shelling out your hard earned cash Read more

Looking at their website, they say they are regulated by the Irish FSA. Not to sure about this ftom a legal point of view - I would have thought the UK might be more appropriate - but it may be worth dropping them an e-mail enquiring about the complaints procedure. If the correct pressure cannot be obtained, the pump is not working according to its specification and is therefore faulty.

Can you access/replace the fuel filter without removing the tank on this car? Read more

Fairly sure that it's supposed to last the life of the car on this model.

Are you sure the filter is the cause of your problem?...

One of my diesel injectors (#3) operates just below the upper tolerance limit when the engine is cold and well within spec when the engine is hot. All other injectors are well within spec regardless of engine temp.

Does this require further investigation or just leave it alone?... Read more

Fair dos, it's a reasonable question for a discussion board. But unless we have a Volvo technical design expert then we aren't going to get much helpful comment on why that variance might be there, whther is is typical, and whether it could presage anything undesirable.

Absolutely no point raising it with a dealer of Volvo CS of course - the answer will be as given above, it's within tolerance so there's nothing wrong with it:)

Hi, I was wondering why when getting a pcp quote both volkswagen and audi wont give you the piece of paper the quote was printed on becasue it is not on an 'official' piece of paper?

Also I was wondering whether dealers quote a higher finaly payment/gmfv if they think they are selling a car to you for a higher price, the reason I ask is:... Read more

If it's been a week or so with little/no water in the cooling system I'd imagine the engine has been well and truly 'cooked' by now.

If the oil looks light brown/beige and the consistency of mayonnaise in the filler cap its an indication of short journeys (normally), where the engine hasn't got hot enough and condensation has built up emulsifying the oil mist with the condensate in the top of the engine....

The 2 reference voltages on this skoda both come via the ecu 1x5v & 1x12v we have the 5v feed but no 12v feed we have checked the wiring from the egr valve to the corresponding ecu pin no which would point to a ecu problem. Does any 1 know if we can hook up a 12v feed via ign on would work. Any feed back greatly accepted Regards Micky -bo Read more

Have you disconnected the wire from the pin & checked for 12v from the ECU. These reference voltages are usually fairly high impedance & wont take much of a load to kill it.

I am after some honest advice here. I brought the car in September 2011. From then its been down hill from the main dealer. Made then do a print out today of all the visits I have had to ensure to keep the car happily on the road.

First issue of many. From day one the car had a misfire. I got various answers from Perrys that it was the way I drive it as i was not used to driving a three cylinder engine, I have to thrash it to make it work etc. Fault was found eventually after a lot of back and forth. This was on the 14th April 2013 and turned out to be fault insultors/ resistor corroded. Fault Cause code 6571. First question: what if any damage could have been caused having a mis fire for so long? ... Read more

As much as I hate to say it, but if you've had a car for 3 years, and managed to do 29k in it, then you've had a fairly decent amount of use out of it, so rejection, or anything else similar will be pretty much out of the window.

However, Vauxhall introduced the 'lifetime' warranty in 2010. If it's got a full Vauxhall SH, then you might try using a different dealership group. It might mean a bit of a drive, but if there's a chance of getting stuff done under warranty, then worth a look at least.
