sounds like the handbrake is stuck on that wheel, drum will have to come off to correct it as cable (unless it can be released from back of handbrake lever) goes through backplate to adjuster, it may have adjusted itself too much

they have been known to do that...

Hi there iv got a 2008 fiesta 1.4 tdci f6ja engine... ever since iv had this car its had a slight judder when idleing its only slight buts its noticable also iv recently had an air con service as it was out of gas but when I turned it on my revs was very erratic up and down as if it was exaggerating the idle problem... iv already had my injectors seals done and my injectors checked they are fine iv also changed my oil and replaced my air filter... recently had a diagnostic done and showed up my maf sensor was not working so iv replaced that and check the wiring all is in order but problem still persists... the car itself drives fine and pulls away through the gears no problem but I do get a bit of hesitation when driving slow in low gears so now im swaying towards the fuel delivery...

The Fiesta I bought in 2001 is now run by my daughter, After having some work done on the car, she needed the code to reset the radio. The code I have used previously doesn't work. Could anyone confirm the unlock code for radio serial # M082973? Thanks in advance. Read more

I have just found the code generator linked to in an earlier post and it gave me the code. Isn't the internet wonderful?

Good evening, I have discovered that the radio code given in the audio manual for my 2003 Ford Fiesta is incorrect! Very frustrating to say the least.

Is there anyone on here that could assist me please with a code? The audio unit is a 4500 RDS with the serial number M271067.... Read more

Hello guys,

After installing new clutch today, flywheel bolts and new sonic ring (for crank shaft sensor at the back of the flywheel) went to turn it over and it would not fire. We plugged the diagnostics in and it came back crank shaft position sensor - we took the sensor off and there was some oil over the 'magnetic' sensor part I'm not sure whether this would affect it? Sensor reads 175ohms when unplugged which I assume is correct? Also there is 4.8v coming from the main input wire (exactly the same as the camsensor as I tested that as well to see if there was any difference)

Vehicle came into to me as a none runner so unsure if this fault was there before, flywheel bolts had snapped so whether the sensor got knocked, however there is no visual damage to it?

Any suggestions?

EDIT: just retested and the resistance now shows 137ohms compared to the 175ohms measured 20minutes ago

Many thanks Read more

Hi All,

I'm looking to replace a Toyota Auris 2.0 d4d that is ageing terribly at under 100k and 5 ish years. After a catolouge of faults it's returned from Toyota today after it's major service with a bill for £800 general repairs and investigation to identify a serious fluid leak coming from the block or potentially the gearbox, they are not sure of the exact location at the moment. I am a supermarket store manager and my mileage can fluctuate wildly, on average I do around 20-23k but can hit 35k per year. I always use main dealers for servicing, so a good value menu serving scheme would be an advantage. (My car has a full Toyota history)

I'm not sure I want another diesel as I only average 44mpg over my ownership on my 40 mile each way motorway return. In addition each of my diesel cars have had major breakdowns (diesel related) that have cost a fortune to put right. ( negating any fuel saving and more) My wife has a fiesta ecoboost that is fantastic and I can manage 50-55 mpg on my commute but will cost more than I'm willing to spend.

My main requirements are a car under 4 years old that has 5 doors, air con, ESP, a full array of airbags and a reasonable boot. This car will suffer dents etc due to parking arrangements in loading bays so looks not too important. It needs to be more comfortable than the Auris (can't be hard) and return 45 mpg at least. I have a budget of between £7-8k. Can be manual or auto. I was thinking civic 1.8. Do you have any other suggestions? Thank you in advance. Read more

I agree with gordonbennet's view above. Anyone who worries about whether their car is 'cool' hasn't grown up into a sensible adult, in my personal opinion.

I have an old ('04) Ford C-Max with a 2.0 diesel engine which I believe is pre DPF.

The car has an engine problem which, though very intermittent, is potentially dangerous. The last two times it happened were both at junctions, the engine idling as I waited to pull out into a larger road (in one case a fast A road). When there was a space I moved to drive forward but the engine failed to respond to the accelerator. It didn't stall but remained at about 1100 rpm, enough to move the car slowly forward as I tried to get it to the side of the road and out of harm's way.... Read more
