Ford Focus Mk 2 08 Model - Gear deselect is stiff - hoyak

I have noticed today that when I deselect second gear to neutral/other gear there is resistance compared to deselecting other gears.

The car is 08 registration, approx. 85k on the clock with no major repairs ever required. No service history when I purchased at 30k (was an ex lease car purchased from a car supermarket) but been serviced approx. every 12k since then... having a service the coming weekend so will ask them about it then also.

Does anyone have any thoughts/ideas?

2.0L petrol as an afterthought unsure if relevant..
