Hi,
Many thanks in advance for any help. My wife and I would like a "high up" car for good visibility and safety fr a baby on the way. My priorities are comfort and space and I'd like an "upright" driving position as since touring in a Toyota Coaster mobile home I've discovered this to be much more comfortable and better for my back than the "legs out in front" position in most cars. I'm 6'6" tall unfortunately which has lead to problems as even large SUV/Crossovers don't seem that much bigger inside than smaller models (the car grows but not the space for the driver).... What problems did you have with your C4 grand Picasso?
I’ve heard very mixed reviews about them, seem to be some common faults on the pre facelift model. Post facelift model to young to draw the same conclusion but so far so good.
I have had a problem with reversing for some time. The car occasionally 'judders' when I go into reverse and a few times I have nearly hit something behind me.
Reported it several times to Honda dealer, who at first found no fault, then said the I-shift update needed.
This has been done, but was told if it happens again I will need a clutch and flywheel, costing over £11 000. Surely this can't be right? Read more
Neighbour's FRV was almost £1500 for the clutch/DMF a couple of months ago.
Engine seems to go into limp mode when exceeding 3000 revs. Gets Kangaroo Hops. Yet when in Neutral and static it happily goes way beyond 3000 revs,up to 5000 possibly. I have changed the fuel filter, and we had a new clutch fitted last year (solid to replace dmf). Also have had vehicle re chipped to improve performance and economy.
First time it happened as we approached M40 and accelarating into position on inside lane. Prior to this my foot had slipped off the clutch causing a sharp tremble butt I was able to recover and did not stop.... Read more
I had this problem on mine too. It turned out to be the fuel pump which was a costly replacement and fix at around £800. I don't have it now but I recall that it came about with a couple of thousand miles of having the engine re mapped. I cannot say that this caused it as it may be just coincidence. However, replacing the fuel pump solved the problem!

That's what my expert advisor said. I've bought the relay, wire, fuse and holder, and a switch, but I've got to find a route from the battery to the boot. Difficult in a modern car. I might have to route the wire underneath.
Hi Folks,
Turning right at a T junction with my light at green I was hit in the driver's side by a car going straight across a red.... Read more
Hello Dougie, sorry to read of your troubles and I hope you recover soon. The only positive is that you will recover and cars can be fixed. Regarding the camera. If it showed your light on green, then it should be impossible for the opposing lights to be on green too. Otherwise it is a recipe for disaster and there would be lots of accidents at that spot. The lights could easily be checked to establish they are sequencing correctly. If they are and you have a witness to confirm your story then you have a good case. Best of luck.

hi all, the vinyl screen on my 1990 merc sl 500 has a tear in it. as do one of the smaller rear 'side' windows. Should i repair or replace the screens? replacing is a good £300, but a repair kit is only £15, though replacing would look better, but i don't want to spend too much. What would you guys/girls do? cheers Read more
Depends what you want to do with the car, keeping it long term with a view to modern classic status then get it done.
These are superb cars, some of the very best MB has made, its worth keeping up to standard, keeping MB's up to standard is not a cheap task, they cost serious money to maintain properly and will bite you in bum big time if you fail to do so.
Hi, I am looking for some advice and opinions after having my car serviced recently. I drive a Smart Four two which does not have a drain point for the oil as this has to be pumped out to be replaced.
Having had my car serviced at a local independent Smart garage recently, within four days the car broke down and this was initially thought to be from a defective starter motor.
Having finally managed to get the car to a separate local garage, they informed me it was not the starter motor but that there was no oil hence the engine had seized.
Apart from the obvious such as massive oil leak (no sign of this i.e. no drips or excessive smoking) can anybody give me any ideas why my car would lose over 3 litres of oil in 4 days. I am currently leaning towards the servicing garage not replenishing my oil after servicing.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Read more
I do not see how it is possible for a car to go 300 miles with no (or virtually no) oil in it.
I once had a square Granada 2.3 V6 in for service, the driver of which whilst a boffin in his own field didn't have the slightest clue or interest in cars, he wouldn't have known how to lift the bonnet, i drained exactly 1 pint of treacle out of the sump, it didn't rattle or smoke it didn't put any lights on and subsequently went on for many miles and years....

I really can't believe anybody would colour change a car like this from new.I would take a good look under the carpets and trims to see if you can identify the original colour. In any case does it matter on a car this age?

Worked. Thanks a lot!!!!
