I used their subsidiary www.tyresavings.com and saved a fortune on tyres. Only discovered them via a Halfords Autocentre who recommended I take look, their prices (for fully fitted) could not be beaten by any local fitter (including an indy!). Read more

Hi guys
Sorry for the (very) late update as I went on holidays for a couple of months then forgot my login details....
I'm looking to get a dealer installed BHP upgrade on my Volvo so that the warranty etc will still be valid. This will increase from 150 to 177 BHP but my current insurance company point blank refuses to insure me statimg that it's their policy not to support modifications. They also refuse to insure me if I put 16" steel wheels on with winter tyres during the winter can you believe?
I have done research on lots of the comparison sites and plenty are willing to insure but at extra premiums to the tune of c£200. I am not prepared to pay that.... Read more
Dingle:
I owned a D3 Volvo until recently. The Polestar upgrade counts as 'chipping' to some insurers and not to others. I had Polestar fitted to my D3 and it gave a very noticable increase in usable low RPM performance. This can be used for driving with less throttle to maintain or increase day to day MPG, or for safer overtaking. The D3 engine with Polestar drives in the same RPM range as the stock engine....

I nearly asked earlier - are there any witnesses or other evidence to show who was on the wrong side of the centre line? If not it may be tricky ?
Why are these cars hard to find, all the dealers we have dealt don't have any, or long waiting list, I have found only one nearly new one and that is only £500 cheaper than a new model. Are the numbers being kept low on purpose to keep prices high? Read more
Thank you for your help, finally managed to find one, didn't appreciate the Indian right hand market
Hi, Could youm please advise on tyre size for this model?
Just replaced rear tyre with spare after puncture this morning, i noticed that the spare is 255/50R19 Whilst the other rear is 275/45R19.... Read more
Well spotted. My mistake. The spare is 195/55R15, I mistyped, so about 0.8% difference at 596mm.
That's actually the standard size for other models in the range.
I have a 2004 Citroen C5 estate which I’ve found reliable and economical. Only problem: the rear window wiper only works when I’m in reverse gear. I cannot see anything through rear window when driving dwon the motorway in heavy rain.... Read more
Do an Ebay search for "COMM2000 repair". There's a chap based in Bradford who repairs them very cheaply (around £25). He's also a Peugeot owner and regular on the forums.
My son's car was declared SORN and parked off road by our rented garage which is situated about 20 minutes away from us. It had a note of a number and name displayed in windscreen if anyone needed to contact us. There were no problems until last month when out of the blue he got a letter saying it had been taken to the pound as it was found on the highway, followed by a fine from the DVLA (a payup or go to court letter). Now on both these items of communication the name of the road where the vehicle was found was incorrect (ie it doesn't exist). When we wrote to the DVLA explaining that the car must have been moved by an unknown person (ie attempted theft) and that the road didn't exist they have replied by saying "the road is actually P...L.." and we want written permission from the owners of the land that you had permission to park there. The written permission we are unlikely to get as the rent is paid to an agent and we have no contact with the actual owners. Can the DVLA just say "oh we made a typing error". He is now being threatened with being taken to court again when he has done absolutely nothing wrong. Advice please Read more
I use Mac, thus not an immediate issue to me. As for instant, no-one expects that!
Mac or Windows, only a complete muppet clicks on random links on forums anyway, especially ones that are unclear in purpose and destination.
We have a Y reg focus the rear near side door is locked and wont open with the key and door release, cable link is ok and operates all other doors open, we have removed door panel and have access to inner door, any ideas on how to get door open? Read more
What do you need to do once you've removed this white cover

Hi i am a tyre giant fitting station and the system set up by Bonds is excellent, i do not however think that they will be cheapest for all brands, but good bargains can be found. eric www.pellonautocentre.com/blog
