Do a significant number of Dacia Sandero owners sell before 42,585 miles? I can't imagine many people who want the latest and greatest will buy one in the first place.
Also, it would be helpful if you included tax differences since higher MPG correlates with lower CO2. In this case for example the diesel is an additional £30 cheaper per year bringing the break even mileage down to 37,878 miles. Read more
Hello, we decided to do a DIY job on the alloys , etch primer, primer, siver alloy and lacquer, all went well but the car having disc brakes at the front picks up a hell of a lot of muck and has been nigh impossible to remove. Does anyone have any ideas as to how this may have happened on the freshly sprayed/lacqured alloys as we have had to virtually clean a lot of the paint off to clean them , regards, Brian Read more
perhaps it was the lacquer, ,thanks
my 3 button flip key has been losing its programming lately. It is intermittent. the car will lock/unlock most of the time, but then out of the blue the fob will die, and i will have to unlock manually, setting off the alarm, before putting key in ignition and pressing a button. Although its easy to reprogram, it is annoying, especially late at night. The battery is good (it unlocks from distance). The s****** is happy to relieve me of £130 to make a duplicate. Its my only key and i'm sure there is a better, cheaper way round it! Should i take the fob apart and inspect? cheers all! Read more

Why do car manufacturers not fit automatic gear boxes in new cars as standard and manuals as extra ? Surely this would negate the extra cost.
Would not most drivers prefer an automatic ? Is it not a chore having to change up and down the box ? At the start of a 200 mile round trip earlier this week I decided to see how many gear changes I would need to make during the journey. Well after covering only two or three mile I counted 26 changes...Then got bored of counting.
A good few years ago I was working for an American company, and when ever they came to visit the UK they always hired automatics. Stick shifts , as they always called manuals were pointless.
Surely now, they must be as reliable as manual boxes ?
Any thoughts comments ? Are there any CEO's of large car manufacturers reading that May like to comment also ?

Some do.
Modern autos give virtually the same mpg as manuals, especially for inexpert drivers who might either hold low gears for too long or labour the engine in too high a gear....
I must say I was very impressed with the MG6 I drove - the (petrol) engine was average in most ways but quite torquey - the chassis was outstandiing - a genuine sporting saloon that can be picked up for peanuts. The interior felt a generation old but was perfectly acceptable.

Maybe open spark plug and clean/replace? We have a grass cutter, works with petrol, changed spark plugs and now it works.

As someone who'se had a crossover for almost 15 years I have to admit the advantage of great view you used to have past and over other cars is gone as every other car seems to be the same height as me these days - you can still look in to the fields I guess when in a traffic jam Read more
If only they'd put a proper engine in the Toyota C-HR. 115hp ?
The 3 Dacia owners I know have no plans to sell but run there cars for 10 years or more.
The Sandero and Logan MCV are the best 2 models as they are based on old proven Renault technology before 2002 (2002 - 2009 Renault products where rubbish, the worst in the companys history).
The Sandero makes perfect sense if you keep your vehicles long term and do not desire all the latest technology.
