Peugeot 406 hdi - Shaking stering wheel - kuntics1

Dear All

just noted a problem with my stering wheel as it shaking when i brake at high speed like above 40-50 mhp

wheel balance done all good, tyres 80% no rip or any damage

any chance to help me out where to look for the problem please?

as usual any help much appreciated

Swap wheels front to back to properly prove that it isn't a flat-spot which is causing the problem.

I had problem with a Peugeot a few years back, finally discovered the alloy wheels had warped slightly. Jack up and spin to check front wheels run true.

Twenty years ago I had gently pulsating brakes on a low-mileage petrol 205. I cured the problem by having the discs skimmed, but it gradually returned. I can only suppose that the disc metal was not uniform.

Often described as disc warp, more often the brake pad material has stuck to the brake disc causing the problem.

Maybe better pad would help

If it's only under braking, then suspect warped brake discs. If they are badly worn they would be more prone to warping.

Check wheels and tyres before lashing out any wonga though. Also check for worn ball joints.

I used Mintex for my Saab, but Pagid and Brembo are also popular from the same stable. I got mine from Premier Factors in Walsall via their eBay shop. Great prices and next day delivery.

all good now Guys!

i had to replace both front dics and pads as well to make sure braking will last

i took from bosch all as i trust that brand and i like quality specially on brakes

all your help is much appreciated
