My wife's Yaris Verso is nearly 10 years old and coming up for replacement. I thought I'd research the Ford TC as it is a newish entry in the market and looks as if it could be a good replacement AND might actually be dual purpose and be able to pull the caravan as well.
However on checking the stats I discovered that diesel TCs have a miniscule towing limit of 1100kg! That's tantamount to checking out a Porsche 911 and being told its top speed is 20mph. Petrol TCs can only pull 900kg and the 7 seat Grand TC is only allowed 845kg.... Read more

I don't know if these use an in tank fuel pump like PSA engines, depends on the injection system, if it does that could be failing, otherwise as already mentioned you have an air leak somewhere.
Any help with electronic door locking system that's not working, leaving car unlocked, also any photo views of the gear linkage, which seems to have seized up, rendering gear change very stiff. Any help will be appreciated. Read more

Had similar on a 25TD, in that a cell in the battery went down. First of all lost the digital mileage reading on the dash, lost the clock, then the headlights noticably dimmed as the alternator started winding back its output due to the duff battery. Engine kept running ok, the ECU did a good job of keeping it all together. A replacement battery cured all in the end.

Is it possible the fuses for the tow bar are near the battery?
My daugher has an oil drip beneath car but difficult to trace with engine shields in place. Area around air intake is wet. Has recently had DPF filer replaced. so this might be an emission control problem Read more
I'd remove the turbo pipes to see if they're oily. Could be an early sign of imminent turbo oil seal failure.
