If you buy a mid range petrol one through drive the deal you'll get £8,300 off list. Finance it yourself and figure out what it will be worth after 4 years. Audi reckon £11k so say £12k. So thats going to cost you £20k over 4 years.

Your first option will be £24k - £6k deposit plus £18k of payments. Your second option will cost you £21,100....

>>>From memory the Khumos (think they were Ecstas) were quieter but the Hankooks had a less sporty tread pattern and were better in the wet.

Had Kumho Solus (allegedly All Season) on my Santa Fe, noisy, overly hard and lumpy especially when cold. Replaced with Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season, transformed ride and wet weather performance. My wife has bought an i10 and the half worn Kumhos on that are hard and pretty grim in the wet so we're thinking of Hankooks which seems to score better or much better across various tests.

Generally 6-cylinder diesels are more refined than 4-cylinder: but some of the newer fours are much better than older ones, especially from inside. Avoid a four-cylinder Mercedes diesel if you are after refinement.

Are you sure the thermostat has been changed?

I owned a 1.6i (8v) that was forever showning the engine light. A thermostat change sorted it.

I am a 27 year old from just outside Glasgow looking for some work experience at a garage while I am studying the level 2 and 3 vrq in automotive servicing & repair. I have a mechanical aptitude and have been self taught to some extent and have undertook jobs such as replacing wishbones, driveshaft, hub swivel pin's, suspension mounts, engine mounts, steering wheel, brakes & servicing. I also own Peugeot/Citroen dealer level diagnostic equipment which have helped me diagnose central locking problems, airbag faults and air flow faults. I am also working on old outboard engines as a hobby where I have rebuilt carburettors, installed new coils points & condensers and head gaskets.

I am looking to do 1 or 2 days a week helping out at a garage and willing to travel anywhere in central/west Scotland.... Read more
