The on-board computer in my 607 packed in, the message on screen saying "Please Insert Upgrade CD".

Anti skid light on -Garage checked checked - fault codes none relevant - on ramp found no drive to rear wheels - transfer box and sleeve required. While we were deciding put in for MOT and passed. Any further ideas or what transfer box and sleeve will cost to supply and fit? Is it worth doing on 2005 car with 92000 mile? Thanks Read more
Thanks. Importing from USA means import duties and Vat. We are just wondering if it's worth fixing or is trying to trade-in this car a non-runner even though we have a new MOT?
Hi,
Has anyone experience of buying using www.buyacar.co.uk ?... Read more
It doesn't look as if anyone has. I'll bump this thread up to the top in case anyone else sees it.

mid april this year i presented my car for mot to be told it had failed on emissisions the scanner they used was not working correctly ? so they done a bleed off test which revealed 3 faulty injectors after they quoted £200. per injector plus fitting i asked if i could source my own recon injectors this was ok with garage i sourced recons which garage fitted the car then failed to start they said recon injectors were faulty so they were returned to supplier they have said that the fuel in injectors had metallic contamination so warranty was void they say that fitter should of carried out a fuel test before saying i needed injectors? the garage say that they did carry out fuel test & no contamination found the supplier has now said as a act of goodwill they will repair contaminated injectors free of charge but will not accept any returns if contamination issue is not solved the garage now has the recon injectors back from supplier i visited the garage again 10/05/14 to find that the car is still not repaired they say they have not fitted recon injectors because they have now found metallic particles in fuel tank ? they now suspect injector pump? have walked out of garage to get advice as to where i stand i have obviously been lied to by a established garage can any one help? It is ALWAYS best to let the fitting Garage supply parts as they are then liable for any warranty and labour charges associated with that.
The injector pump is expensive and just fitting it will not solve the problem, the tank needs to be cleaned as do all fuel lines. Is your car worth enough to justify all this...
Following on from my earlier postings, have not used the car for a week now, Partly because of the lovely co-ordination of 2 sets of road works in Taunton, and the horrendous congestion...Have simply not driven at all, and not missed it either! Bus pass on order! Read more
You could try cycling along the bus lanes instead. I assume there are some, or the bus would be as much use as your car?
Can someone please tell me what might be wrong with our car.
It's a J reg Fiesta 1100 with a four speed gearbox and sometimes it is very stiff to get in and out of the gears...it doesn't happen all the time.
The car has been driven by us from new and I realise it's an old car but it only has 30 odd miles on the clock so hasn't been to John O' Groats and back .
I just wondered if there is anything simple we could try regarding oiling up the gearbox linkage or similar or is this a much more costly serious problem.
All help and advice much appreciated.
Thanks Read more
Thanks everyone.....can the gear lever linkage and connection to gear box be checked from inside the car...ie. after removing the centre console etc or does this have to be done from underneath?
Thanks
I purchased a new Ka in January to use as my driving school car. After a couple of months it developed a strange rubbing/grinding noise when reversing. This has got progressively worse especially if reversing uphill putting load on the clutch. There is no noise if reversing downhill. It has been into Ford dealership 3 times and they have cleaned the brake discs - no effect. Today I returned to the dealership and drove another similar age Ka which made a similar noise but not as loud or noticeable. Has anyone else experienced this? My local dealership are now stating that this is not a fault just a noise that Kashmir make!! Read more
It's a Fiat with a Ford badge!!!
Evening all,
Last week I let the long haired colonel (missus) borrow the car, she managed to not crash it but the following day I noticed the airbag warning light flash up on start. I asked her if she had done anything and the reply was "I only moved the seat". This sounded the alarm bells as I know I have read somewhere that there is an airbag sensor under both front seats. So I am assuming that the sensor has been damaged.... Read more
Sounds very much like the airbag wiring plug has lost it's connection when the seat was moved. This was a known issue when I worked at a VW dealership and the fix was to remove the seat, cut off the yellow connector and solder extension wires in.
I used to undo the four spline headed bolts that hold the seat and tilt the seat back to get clearance to the underside rather than take the seat out completely to repair the wiring. ...
Recently bought used V70 for £1,000. Very pleased with it, but remote control key fob has just given up the ghost. Volvo main dealer quoted £250+ for a replacement, but I don't really want to pay one-quarter the value of my car just for a key fob. Any ideas how I might get one cheaper (legally!)? Read more
Loads on ebay v cheap too.
