I replaced both CV joint rings, and the light stayed on. Took it for MOT and they plugged it in for me, and it showed no Signal on O/S/F wheel sensor. On closer inspection I found two wires which had been twisted together and covered with tape. I have now soldered them back together and light went out with first turn of the wheel.

Thanks for all your help.

A few months ago I was involved in a hit and run, the drivers side window shattered whilst I was driving my car, the wing mirror was hit by an oncoming truck. Needless to say I got cuts from the shattered glass.

A lady called the police for me and the officer took all the details, contacted my insurance company and breakdown service, Green Flag. I just received an invoice from Green Flag asking for £350 callout charges. I thought green flag was part of Sure Rescue, well that was until a couple hours ago when I contacted them.... Read more

I don't quite 100% follow the story but what I can tell you is that Churchill, Green Flag (and some other big names) are all part of the Direct Line group. As seperate as they may be, they are all one big company.

As for breakdown cover policies, most of them primarily cover BREAKDOWNS not ACCIDENTS. If you look in the small print of a lot of the policies it will say that they reserve the right to charge you for any towing costs that are not due to a mechanical breakdown. Hence when it involves accident recovery, they can pass the cost on to you....

These are the 4 stud 5 spoke wheels. They are removed and re-sealed as necessary but I'm considering having them stripped and re-powder coated professionally in the hope of getting a permanent cure . Any info would be appreciated. Read more

Hi,

Hoping I can get some opinions.

We have a Toyota iQ we want to move on as it's been pretty awful over the last three years with various issues, the latest 3 different Toyota dealers cannot fault or fix.

We want an Astra sized hatch, diesel and auto. The car has to not be dual clutch, semi auto and have a bit of punch.

We went to look at the Astra and noticed a cruise, similar spec and same engine/gearbox combo as I understand but the car was £3k cheaper at the same age and mileage. (18 months old, 20000 miles)
Depreciation is not too much of a concern ( not that the Astra is famed for cash retention) the cruise has 3.5 years warranty left versus the Astra 1.5 years.

For what we need the two cars drive with similarity and only when pushing on around the bends does the Astra drive better, but I cannot justify the extra £3k being asked for the Astra.

Is the Cruise worth a punt even with Chevrolet pulling out of Europe next year? We will run the car until it's 6 or 7 years old.

P.s. I'm aware of DPF's , I will be driving this car 24k per year and my wife will be driving my non DPF diesel.

Thanks,
Wug. Read more
