The filter has been changed and re checked. The fuel additive system has recently been replaced but the problem still occurs , any ideas?

A lot of people go on about the higher prices of replacing a clutch on a diesel car, but I would what the difference in cost would be on a 2009 Mondeo between a 2.0 litre petrol and diesel model. Because at somepoint over their lifes both cars would most likely need at least one clutch replacement.

Its hard to find one that does not have a DMF. MB have been using them in both petrol and diesel for 15 years to my knowledge.
Just out of interest for my next car in a couple of years time, I will be considering an auto. I likely the DSG gearbox.
However the reliability issues put me off, especially when I will be looking to purchase a car 5 years or more old due to budget.... Read more
I suppose I generally agree that the DSG has had it's issues. Mine has had a new clutch pack under warranty due to clutch judder. You'd hope that someone as big and influential as VAG could sort out potential problems after this length of time. Mine was repaired after about two years in to it's three year warranty...no problems getting it done after they, initially, tried out re-programming it (or whatever they call it) and finally decided it needed a new clutch. I think they've now acknowledged the problem and fix it without a load of negotiation.
Don't have any problem at low speed for 99 percent of the time and conclude that if there ever is a bit of a low speed hiccup then that is outweighed by the cracking performance of the trasmission for the rest of the time. I love it and the manual over-ride facilities if offers, should you want them. Now the warranty is expired I'll pay just under £150 a year for an extended warranty which, I'm assured, will cover the transmission therefore I can continue to enjoy the DSG without worrying about a big bill to fix it should it go wrong. At least that's the theory!
Hi all. Had to put a new head on after the bubbling header tank probs.so while doing it I thought a new turbo as its done 110 thou.
But now it doesnt pull or rev properly unless I push the turbo arm to the left. Which gives me boost pressure but as soon as the engine stsrts it pulls the arm to the right on the vaccume controller. Read more
Sounds like it could be a vac solenoid valve problem. Suggest joining the L200 owner's club-a lot of expertise on there about this sort of problem.
Workshop manual available through the club as well....

Interesting.... All the roads through my area are 20mph and it has made absolutely no difference. In fact has caused some seriously stupid manoeuvres from impatient drivers...so all in all has made our roads more dangerous. People just need to apply common sense...30 to 20 made ni difference here... And as for safer for pedestrians and cyclist....put some bloody lights on (cyclists) or put your mobile phone in your pocket (pedestrians) if you cross a road. I now drive with a dash can as I am sick of good drivers being blamed for others stupidity.....rant over Read more

It all depends how this "check for DPF removal" on MOT pans out. Luckily on many Pugs there's no pass-through pipe available and you have to open up the DPF and gut the insides before returning to the car - so if its just visually inspected then the tester will see it.
But a properly maintained car shouldn't have DPF problems. Over the course of its life its fractions of a penny per mile to run. It just has to be factored in as a part that needs replacing, just like a clutch or CAT....
