Hi All
The washer pump on my 2007 Focus has stopped working. On operating the switch, the wipers do their thing but there's no sound from the pump and no fluid is ejected. The reservoir is full, and the fuse is OK.... Read more
Might have been better had I done that before I bought a new pump.
I fitted the pump and the system remained as dead as a dodo. I checked fuses, fiddled with connections, the lot, and having exhausted all my own avenues I called a chap with a bit more experience. Through a process of elimination and using a simple testing light, he discovered that one of the pins in the multi plug between pump wiring and main cable had corroded and snapped off, so there was no longer a connection. We butchered the plug from the circuit, twisted the wires together (I'll do a more permanent fix with cable connectors at a later date) wrapped it all in insulating tape and hey presto: washer fluid squirting all over the show....
The warning light has come on and the car does show a sluggishness when accelerating. checked the glow plugs in that drove car and warmed it up then turned ignition off and back on and light was still there.
You need to check the glow plugs by testing them electrically, just cos the car starts and drives doesn't mean there isn't a glow plug fault. A new set arent too expensive either. Once they're eliminated (they're a common cause of this fault on this engine as you've probably found out), move on to the next possibility.
Hi I am having problems with power loss on my E320 CDI 2006 V6. when started the vehicle will rev perfectly I can hear the turbo kicking in and it will rev to red line easily. However when I select drive the turbo will work once only and then the vehicle goes into limp mode, and will not rev beyond 3000 rpm it takes an age and level ground to reach that, far from the 0 - 60 of 6.8secs previously achieved. I have changed the seals from the air intake hose to the turbo. I have run the engine with the maff sensors connected one at a time and none connected at all but no difference. can anybody help please. Read more
Standard procedure would be to read the fault codes, preferably from someone with access to STAR.
Limp home could be caused by overboosting, symptom of sticking turbo actuator/veins.
I bought a 320 CLK elegance in 2001 it being reg in 1999 with 20K miles on the clock from my local MB dealer and it has given me no problems apart from replacing a dual air mass filter 2-3 years ago and now has 95K on the clock and MB dealer serviced all along. It is still driving really very well and everything works. It has had some (to be expected) anti rust work done a couple of times over the past 4 to 5 years to the wheel arches at the back mainly. But the time has now come to move on to a E350 bluetec coupe or cab and I can't decide as yet which one. The CLK would only be worth around 1K on a Px and I wondered if you thought it might be worth selling it to a CLK club of some sort as I would hate to see it going to the crusher....!....if I had enough room I would seriously contemplate keeping it even though I know it wont become any sort of classic. He even admits it won't become any kind of classic, I think he's actually very level headed and realistic and just wanted to share his own positive experience. Hardly deluded!

Where is that Rich? A good, friendly Audi dealership is worth knowing about.
As recently reported, 9 trains are to be taken from the TransPennine route and given to Chiltern trains in the South.
As anyone who has used TransPennine knows, the trains are packed like sardine cans at peak times already. This route serves Leeds, Manchester, Manchester airport, Liverpool, Hull etc.... Read more
If there was significant opposition in France, Germany, Italy, Ireland or Greece local politics would have exploited it with emergence of 'anti' parties.
Well at first of course, most people were taken in by the EU and their national Governments telling them the Euro would make them rich. That's what they all said. ...

Still running :
A litre bottle of milk leaked into the rear passenger footwell...months ago. I've had the car valetted. Tried steam pressure washing that areas. Tried carpet sanitiser. Tried bicarb on it....tried everything I can think of on it and still it stinks ! Stale milk. Yuck.
Someone somewhere must know how I get rid of the smell, apart from ripping up the carpet (?)... Read more
The very worst substance, you would have had to remove the carpets and underlay at the time and thoroughly wash every single drop of fresh milk off still wet to avoid this.
Once dried in you're in trouble, you have no option now but to remove the carpets and underlay, then see how badly the smell has leached into any fittings or rubber or plastic padding under the carpets....

aw thank you so much i was lost without my music all the best :-)
