I have owned this car for a few months and have been getting the same problem where by the EML comes on after about 100 miles and stays on until reset. I'm suspecting its the cat but I don't want to start spending money changing bits unnecessarily, so I would be very interested to hear anybody elses thoughts...... Read more
hi question regarding a 2004 Toyota Yaris T SPIRIT D4D Turbo Diesel idling issue when first starting the car
if i take the air pipe off egr valve the car idles correctly and revs normal ,if i reconnect it the problem comes back if i take the pipe off the throttle valve in the video the car revs normal, the cars done 37000 genuine miles i have cleaned the Egr nothing of concern it was ok ,i cleaned the mass airflow with proper cleaner no change, is there anything else i can check , air filter all ok , the car when warm runs and ticks over as normal what could be causing this strange problem will an egr valve cause the throttle control valve to operate without touching the throttle in the car .??????????????please see video regarding the problem

Hello, I konow that is very old trade, but have you ever solved your problem? I have problem with cold start in the morning where the temperature is under -5 degrees celsius. It has difficulties to start and when it starts then it is very rough idling until maybe a 1 minute. I haven't check my glow plugs yet (but i do not have some failure showing on dash board). Anyway I will change fuel filter tomorrow, and check glow plugs. Any other suggestion? Mine is Yaris from 2012.

From the perspective of an owner of old Beema's run on a shoestring some years ago.
Bosch alternators...have had minor issues with two of these. Nowt wrong with the actual alternator just bought a new gubbins that bolted into them. New carbon bushes and I believe a rectifier pack. Very satisfying to spend I think it was eight quid and avoid replacing an expensive alternator. Once fixed they ran for years with no trouble....
Just seen a Ford avert. Young couple whizzing along a bendy road presumably demonstrating sporty road holding. They are having an argument , the guy then texts the girl driver who reads it on the car display.

hi everyone, im bob7, i have a p38 dse range rover 1997 with the bmw m51 engine fitted in it, my question is, is there any difference in the manufacturing proccess in the camshaft between the three cars that run this engine as they all produce very different state of performance, is the camshaft interchangeable in all three car manufacturers, can i put an omega camshaft in my p38 as a straight swap ? thanks bob7. P0420 is generated when the pre and post lambda sensor readings are too similar which usually indicates that the catalyst efficiency is poor. As previously said, a new cat may be where you're going with this.
