March 2014
Hello,
I have a 2010 Corsa 1.2 Energy which I bought in November 2013 from a Vauxhall main dealer. This morning, my wife used her key( the spare, non folding type) to unlock the car and sat in the passenger seat. She does not drive and is always careful to touch nothing. There was no key in the ignition then there was a "tick tock"" noise and both front electric windows came down at which point she called me. They both went up again when I used the switch. My wife thinks she has heard the noise before when she has used her key to unlock the car and has sat in the passenger seat prior to my coming out but isnt certain. I have notified Vauxhall in case my Network Q covers this or, failing that, if the garage want to check it out on a goodwill basis. Do any readers have any thoughts on what might have caused this?... Hello everyone,
I inherited a 2004 Honda CR-V from my Dad, and in the two years he had it he didn't drive it that much but he didn't look after it either. It's a lovely car inside and I decided to drive it to replace my own Peugeot 107.... Read more
My sons well cared for CRV had the judders, both front drive shafts worn diagnosed at Honda at a price you don't want to know.
He found rebuilt exchange units at about 1/4 the price of the Honda jobbies and we fitted them fairly easily one sunny morn....
This is to say thank you for all the excellent technical input since my post about steering symptoms on daughter's "new" car. Armed with the info. a realignment has been done so now the battle to get reimbursement from the BMW dealership. Progress will be posted in "discussion" section. Read more
The new Nissan Juke is much better, this is a poor attempt to outstyle its competition Read more
I love it! It looks like a real car rather than a toy (juke) and is probably more practical and spacious.
When the Twingo first arrived on the scene it was a back to basics Renault 5 sold mainly in countries that buyers did not have the spending power for mainstream cars. Now into it's 2rd generation it is a car that falls into the Mini/500 type of vehicle that you can personalise and double the original price by the time you take delivery.
You can't blame Renault they have Dacia now to do the back to basics so will this soon become the new Dacia mini in a more basic disguise? Read more
That should read " 3rd generation "
Looks much better in the flesh Read more
Same thoughts as George, - why no Trailhawk ? Although I might still buy one depending on other factors.

Please don't laugh at me! I've routinely bought a bottle of Redex Diesel treatment 500ml, this gets added to a full fuel tank after refuelling. I have a problem in that inserting the bottle just spills the product on the ground via the overflow. I bought a baby one shot bottle with the same result. The problem is not capacity but the Ford misfuel inhibitor which won't open except naturally for a fuel pump. I tried a funnel and flexible hose with the same result, prod and poke but the fuel filler neck has been designed to incorporate contact points that open an internal fuel flap only when the larger diesel pump nozzle applies pressure on them. Any thoughts would be welcome . Read more
First thing - I have found from experience that the use of the diesel treatment you mention makes not one jot of difference to the running of the car or to the chances of poor running due to injector fouling. The proper (and rather expensive) additives, with cerium, do make a difference to my pre-DPF car. If you car has a DPF and uses Eolys fluid, then that's really all you need. The Eolys fluid uses cerium oxide as the active ingredient and reduces the temperature at which the soot (diesel particulates) burns, giving a cleaner combustion.
But if you need to use an additive (and my 06 Fiesta has a more simple fuel flap. I haven't seen the type on your 09 car) then I would suggest fitting a wider, longer, length of pipe to your funnel (sorry, you say you've tried that), but I suppose it'll have to be a pipe of about the same dimensions as a fuel nozzle. How about a short piece of copper plumbing - say 22mm?

bleedin ell can I be the first to post total bafflement, as a befuddled observer. Shouldn't they go up and down.
