I'm seriously considering buying a new Audi A3 Sportback SE 1.4 TFSI 122 PS. It's probably gonna be my 'death car' so I've decided to go slightly upmarket!
Pal of mine bought the manual petrol variant (of which I've had a brief test drive in) late last year and rates it as the best car (in that sector) that he's ever owned.
I guess if you were spending £30-40K you'd undoubtedly plump for the auto but I wonder if it's worth it if only spending low £20Ks & fitted to a 1.4 donkey?
CO2 for the manual is 123 and 116 for the S tropic, so the auto drops down a group saving £75 from Yr2 (at current rates) - so utterly insignificant in the short-term/grand scheme given the auto is +£1500 at point of purchase, etc.
So, I guess my real question is does the 1.4 merit an autobox or is it 'overkill at that level'?
No, on second thoughts I suppose my real concern should be with regard to the durability of the respective gearboxes??
Does anyone on here have previous experience of the A3 7-speed S tropic???

I would concur, clutch not disengaging properly.

If you'e got to get the scooter in the car, the priority is a low loading height with no lip. A Citroen Berlingo might be one to add to the list.
