Hi,
I have a Fiesta Ghia, 2000 reg, which is a 1.25 Zetec.... Read more
Car cuts out as it slows intermittently. Can go for 200 miles with no problem but then can cut out 3 -4 times over a 10 mile drive. Diagnostics showed cam phaze sensor which has been replaced but still fault remains. Car will normally start again if left for 4 - 5 minutes. We have a problem with the barrel in the car in that you can remove the key from the barrel and the car will continue to run. This can be done at 3 positions on the barrel. Iwasn't sure if the fault could be related to barrel affecting the immobilizer? If it is, does it mean a new barrel and will I have to go through Chrysler for this. The car is 10 years old but is in great condition, regularly serviced and going great apart from this fault. Any advice would be appreciated. Read more

My Honda CRV 2003 has started to make an occassional knock/ clunk - nothing major but noticable - it can be felt through the streeing wheel and seems to be from the font end .. checked all bushes and joints and they seem to be all tight and fine.
In normal use it happens very occassionally except when reversing onto the drive with nearly full lock - it always does it as i go up the curb. Just one knock.... Read more
thanks Dabooka, with the vehicle parked and bonnet open turned the wheel a few times and you could feel the clunk on the tie rods - would this help confirm your thoughts?
I'm now on my second VW 1.9 TDI and one thing I've noticed with both engines is that they gulp oil (ie in the 'check' area of the disptick, the level drops by 25-35%) every so often, and then use none for a while...and so on. It seems to be irrespective of oil type used (viscosity or brand) and irrespective of how the car is driven.
It doesn't concern me and oil use is not excessive, just wondering why this happens? Read more

Hello all,
With a forthcoming trip round Europe looming I have decided that a can of tyre sealant is not going to do the business. Can anyone tell me where I can source a space saver spare wheel or find out what size is required. I have tried Audi who do not supply them.
I currently don't even know what size would be required so o can't start trawling the scrapyards.
The car is an audi a4 with 17 inch wheels. Read more
Cheers just a driver. Understand what your saying about a full size wheel but want the smallest wheel possible as it will be in the boot and taking up space. Will try the website.
Looking to move my 2009 Honda accord on hassle free ,so had an online valuation which came as a bit of a shock for me at £8025.The car is a diesel auto with leather, satnav and full Honda service history, did declare a few scratches to them which are minor ,so the close up valuation would probably be closer to £7000.
I realize it is a business who work on margins but are people really this daft, there are a few on autotrader close to mine at £11-12k which would leave a nice margin,it would seem they are more suited to the shed end of the market,i however will not be requiring their services. ... Read more
Most of their cars are pretty awful - frequently with major faults including knocking engines on many examples.
These are the cars of course, that private sellers wish to off-load with no questions asked as to the number & seriousness of the faults that lurk under the bonnet; hence they look to WBAC & other such guaranteed buyers. ...

Thanks for suggestion Madf. Garage have replaced cam phaze sensor which showed up in diagnostic test. I assume that this is the same part as crank shaft sensor. When I got car back from garage it was fine for day and a half then cut out again. Brought it back to garage who said that cam phaze sensor was showing fault. However, they checked wiring and said that there was some corrossion and they had cleaned the pins? Not sure what that means but they said that it would be fine now. Worked for a day and then cut out as I was going round a round a bout. I'm at my wits end.
