Can anyone advise if the windscreen is electric heated as I am getting my windscreen replaced due to a stone chip the size of a 20p on the driver side? Read more

MrEckerslikefromRamsbottom

No, its only fords that have this feature, they patented it

Totally untrue. Lots of cars other than fords have heated front screens.

I put a heated windscreen in my Mini 30 years ago. Then I crashed it and broke the screen......

Man without a plan

Hi folks,

Quick question - if I put a deposit down on a car over the phone, then travel to inspect it / complete the transaction in person, do Distance Selling Regs apply?... Read more

Dodge

I was told by my Fiat dealer that all deposits given over the phone are subject to DSR.

however your not dealing with M&S here and you might have to go to court, the best tactic is be nice and convince them you will return for another purchase if they are nice to you. Again this wont help if you are dealing with Atilla the backstreet car sales usually of Enfield.

Must admit I liked the video of the unhappy customer (a doctor it seems) driving a car INTO the showroom, after having to wait 20 minutes when he arrived to collect his car. Read more

Recently I was parking my car and heard a big bang, like I crashed into something and car went lower on the driverside. I checked the front wheel arches after a few weeks later & driverside front was about 3 cm lower than the other side after this the steering got alot harder and car started to drift on the steering. So far I changed all 4 shocks and steering rack replaced with new track rod ends. The coil springs do not appear to have been damaged the steering has started to drift when going fast. There has been no crashes on the car before all this happened steering was perfect. Four wheel tracking also done. When driving the car & coming to a stop there is like a creeping sound.

Could it be an engine mount ????

Please If anyone can help please contact me on chauhanhitesh@hotmail.com

Count the coils and note where the coils finish.

Wow!  I was amazed when  I saw this Mazda 6  venture edition. I can't help but to say it's superb! The specs are really great, things that car buyers are looking for. They say it has a high spec in low cost, it sounds good. Read more

Hi. Searching Google for the refill capacity of my manual 6 speed I find 1.2, 1.3, 1.6 and 1.9 litres suggested., plus hints that the filler hole is too high resulting in 0.3 litres too much oil and a sluggish gearchange. Can anyone please shine some light on this? Read more

Better posing the question on one of the DB forums or asking them direct.

Hi and thanks. MB direct settled on a refill of "a maximum of 1.2 litres". I emptied the old oil without spills (miraculously) and measured the old oil at 1.15litres so I guess that they are correct. (probably). The ground clearance and absence of correct tools made this a beast of a job. It would be nice to have a barn with a car lift.

I have a problem with my clutch. First thing in the morning, I find my clutch pedal is halfway to the floor and I have to put my foot under the pedal and pull it back up. Lubrication of mechanical parts does not help. After driving for a while, the problem becomes intermittent, although there is never any evidence of the clutch slipping (about 65k on the clock). The guy who services my car is mystified and the same goes for me, having a fair bit of personal experience of working on cars in the past. He recently tried bleeding the brakes - I sat in the car to depress the pedal when asked. The engine was not running during the procedure but, the moment I touched the pedal, it went to the floor on its own. When asked to take my foot off the pedal, it would not return and took considerable force to lift the pedal with my foot. Once the pedal was lifted to its correct position, it operated the clutch normally, apart from not always fully returning. Almost like there being a permanent vacuum to the clutch slave cylinder. Does anyone have a clue what might cause this problem. I am a pensioner and I don't really want to go to a main dealer and pay their inflated prices, if this is a simple problem. Help! Read more

Moved to Technical, but you might find the other Pathfinder thread (which raises wider issues so still in this section) worth a look.
