Greetings all, I know there are some techno savvy people on the forum, so here goes. I have been told that it is possible to connect to the internet via my Panasonic Plasma HD TV and wireless router, then pay a subscription to Netflix or LoveFilm and receive virtually unlimited access to thousands of films, tv series etc etc. I was told I could do this via my laptop or with a little gizmobox and a few cables as a permanent fixture. The gizmobox sounds good and would save moving the laptop from office to lounge every time I wished to view a film. Possibly like to try through the laptop first and if we like the outcome then buy a gizmobox. Does anyone know how to do this? Your comments would be welcome. Thanks. Concrete Read more

The climate control a/c does not work took it for a re gass and the mechanic said that it is full of gas, so any ideas as to what could be the problem. Also the heated rear screen function on the climate control lights up but fails to hold. Could the climate control unit be at fault.
Any help or advice would be great.... Read more
These suffer numerous faults on the a/c heating sysytem. No air con could be compressor ,pressure switch ,wiring faults etc.A more in depth investigation is needed to establish what is happening. The main climate panel is usually not a problem .Get it checked with some diagnostic equipt.hth
I took my car in for a routine service and MOT. On my way back from the garage I noticed steam coming from the bonnet. The garage, they have now said that the cylinder head has cracked and the fourth cylinder hole has filled with water. They are now claiming that the previous service from a different garage had overtightened a spark plug and caused the damage and when they removed it during the service the head cracked. They aren't admitting any liability at this stage and suggested I get an impartial mechanic to look at it (at my expense).
I have contacted MotorCodes to see if they can arbitrate between the garage and myself (not sure how impartial they will be since I suspect they are funded by the motor industry - any ideas anyone?)... Read more
seconding Tony G this time, all his advice is sound, I can't understand how you can be so complacent, I'd be hitting the roof, and they wouldn't get away with it.

After a double driving lesson my daughter turned up at the test centre this morning for her appointment to find the place closed. Eventually staff turned up but they had no knowledge of the appointment and apparently the tester would not have been able to do the appointed route anyway (not sure about the last bit but was something like that)
Daughter was given a complaint number to ring and sent on her way. The rest has been a story of stone walling civil servants and a total lack of real appreciation of the impact on my daughter who is doing her PGCE and can only fit tests in during school holidays and of the financial consequnces of further lessons etc. Basically except for initiating a process for getting her test fee back she has got nowhere.... Do you believe a national ID card would cheaper than this?...
Just bought a new Honda JAZZ for 14500 EUROS.
I have about 20000 in cash so I can pay cash if I choose. However if I did this it would eat about 75% of my entire savings, and I also have a mortgage and a new baby on the way. So I do have other expenses that might be lurking (home repairs, things for baby etc)...... Read more
You could increase your mortgage, but that would require an arrangement fee, could be £500 say, plus the interest. You could take out a personal load with your bank, you often get good terms if you are a long term customer. Some credit cards do 6 months with no charge deals, which could be worth using, just make sure you pay before the free period lapses, or you'll be stuffed. Or if you have some investments, you might want to realise them.
I recently was in a similar predicament. I contacted Nationwide about a personal loan, but it was so complex I gave up. I decided to live on the edge, using cash to pay the bill, and sell stock market investments if need be. I worked out that the loss in future growth from selling investments would be no more than the charge from Nationwide for a loan, and probably much less. With luck I will not need to sell any, but they are their in case the wolf arrives at the door.

I recommend that you do more research in Technical Matters for a start, on Laguna/Espace DCi turbo charger bearing problems. You need to consider where the oil "being forced out around the manifold to the EGR valve" is coming from. If oil other than 5w/40 synthetic (diesel) is used and is not changed ~9k miles/ once a year, it is often the case that turbo charger bearing problems occur. Also, the inlet manifold is plastic and has been known to warp etc, which causes sealing problems with associated leaks. If you cleaned up the leaking oil you might be able to work out where, exactly, it is coming from. I believe you are at the stage where you need practical mechanical help from someone who understands such problems.
