Hi there,
am looking for a cheapish MPV and have seen a Granvia with 80,000 miles, diesel, 3 litre engine, looks clean, N Reg, any thoughts on these? Thanks a lot, Matt Read more
OMG this is ugly. Apparently two umbrellas are hidden in the boot. Just perfect to carry as you approach your car, so you can't see how awful it looks.

If you're shipping the car out of the UK then you need to inform the DVLA. All you really need is the registration certificate (V5) which is a blue/green piece of paper (although it may be red as the DVLA are slowly changing them all to red) and i think its section C you fill out and return it to the DVLA. In a couple of weeks they'll mail you a certificate of export showing the DVLA know the vehicle is no longer UK registered. If you dont do this then the DVLA will eventually want to know where the vehicle is and if its taken abroad without this paperwork completed it'll be logged as stolen.
Hi,
I have a Toyota Avensis 55 plate with 125k on the clock and original clutch !! Can someone point me at a way of determining which particular clutch is fitted to this car and what the likely costs of replacement are.... Read more
Hi, I have its predecessor - a Toyota Carina 1997 with 164,000 on the clock. It too is still on its original clutch! Mine groans when you pull off - this is the thrust bearing. It has done this for the last 120,000 miles.
I'd ring a few garages for quotes (including a main dealer) then go with who you feel is best. A long guarantee on the replacement clutch should be reassuring. ie - short guarantee = cheap clutch....
Folks,
My old Mondeo is getting a bit long in the tooth, so I'm looking something to replace it. I quite like the look of the Chevvy Cruze, and 2011 cars with 20k on the clock are abundant in the dealers here for £8500.... Read more

Hi
I'm a bit confused, on my d40 my front nearside headlamp is out but it works on full beam. The sidelight is also not working.
Is this a dual fillament bulb and is it likely that I simply need to replace the bulb to fix this or is it something more terminal or a fuse that needs replacing? The full beam works ok as do the indicators on the nearside. The offside is all fine and working correctly. Your help is appreciated as I need to drive north this evening and cannot do this without lights! Read more
H4 is very likely.
No idea about the sidelight, it'll probably be some sort of 5w bulb. Assuming that there's no clue in the handbook, just pull the old one and take it into the shop with you for comparison.
[No idea if the letter is correct}
Following a recent family bereavement, we have a 1995 Vauxhall Astra Merit Automatic with only 12000 miles on the clock. Is there any market at all for this, or is it simply a one-way trip to the scrap yard? This seems an awful waste, as the car is in reasonably good condition, though I realise the mileage is a bit on the low side!... Read more
Many thanks for the replies. It's early days yet, so I'll see if I know anyone who may want it first, and then explore the ebay option.
Thanks again all.

Chymera - Can you give an update on how the Mondeo is going for you? Looking at making a 2008 1.8 or 2.0 my next purchase, just wondering about real world costs are (fuel, repairs etc). I'm going to be doing 20k a year, 90% motorway so I'm thinking it will fit the bill.
