Hi, I have its predecessor - a Toyota Carina 1997 with 164,000 on the clock. It too is still on its original clutch! Mine groans when you pull off - this is the thrust bearing. It has done this for the last 120,000 miles.
I'd ring a few garages for quotes (including a main dealer) then go with who you feel is best. A long guarantee on the replacement clutch should be reassuring. ie - short guarantee = cheap clutch.
Good luck!
