You will need to remove the external key barrel unit.Take a look on the rear edge of the door, there should be a plastic bung in line with the door handle.Take this out and there will be a locking screw, either a hex or torx head.Undo this and the lock barrel will slide out of the door.hth
Very clever Ford!
Now work out why they didn't retrim the Rover 200 and badge it as a BMW.....
Mitsubishi Motors UK has sold its 11 site owned retail group Colt Car Retail Group (CCR) to listed Japanese automotive retail company VT Holdings for an undisclosed sum.

As an ex-Lancer owner, all I can say is good luck to them, and I hope they sort out their cars before importing more to the UK. The Lancer was a fantastic looking car, but the suspension was rubbish, the interior was falling to bits after 40k, and the VAG PD engine they chose for the car wasn't exactly the best choice in the world. They also deemed it safe to fit a 1650kg car with 170hp with 280mm front brake discs. You can imagine what they were like after two motorway sliproads......
The COTY jury seem to be getting a reputation for choosing duds - after last year's Nissan Leaf poor sales, now the Ampera/Volt:
The jury dont look at objective practical things when choosing the winner, like whether it'll sell or not. They pick the politically correct car which they think we should be buying to save Mr Polar Bear and they think if they give these cars enough awards we'll rush out and buy them.
I have recently purchased a E46 320d 150bhp on a 2002 plate. I notce when i drive up hills that it has no torque and occasionally it smokes a little but goes away - it is not white smoke. I am concered that the Turbo is not kicking in a full twilt or it could be somethings else. What are the tell-tale signs to look out for. I think it could eb the Air mass meter as was suggested or it could be a pipe. It has been garaged by the previous owner for 6 months and has only done over 1000 miles since its last MOT in August. Can ayone help? Read more

Hi, is it acceptable even legal to have different rules for company car owners and those who own a private car through the company car allowance scheme?
Example 1, a company car owner has had to have his tank drained as he put petrol in a diesel tank, the comapny paid for it. If I did the same then the company have said that I would have to pay for it myself. Is this right?... Read more
I've spent less than £550 on entire cars.
Have problems starting the engine 50% of the time. Sometimes it misfires, sometimes it seems to turn over and then rattles and cuts out.
When I do get it started and apply a little gas and release the rpm needle drops very close to 0 and the engine rattles then revs back up to a bit of an unstable idle. ... Read more

I have a 306 Diesel (non-turbo) 1999, done about 115k. I occasionally get a kind of howling noise - sounds like the wind is blowing. It comes mostly from the passenger footwell area, occasionally from my drivers side. Its happening on most journeys now but but usually only towards the start of my journey and more likely in the mornings going to work rather than coming home.
Any ideas what it might be? I had the clutch replaced about 35k ago, maybe not even that.... Read more
I was also thinking wheel bearing but that would be related to road speed, the pitch increasing as you speed up, it will also generally be louder when more weight is on that wheel i.e. when turning left the right one.
Would anyone consider not having a new car serviced at a main dealer and therefore invalidating the warranty. For instance if an excellent retired mechanic normally services the (older) vehicles. Read more
EU law says warranty is still valid if proper parts are used at a VAT registered garage. So, you can get a car serviced from new at a normal garage, and still enjoy the benefits of the warranty.
As unthrottled said, servicing outside the dealer network does lose any goodwill benefits later down the line....
