In this case, it would appear that the stereotype doesn't fit. It's the Nigerian bloke who's been sold a car by someone who lacks the registration documents.

I'm guessing cheap, mobile phone contact and meet the seller at this station.......

TeeCee, the car is not cheap at all at 1200pounds, dont think that is cheap, and its not phone contact has you said, but have a brother in Uk who is insisting on the Logbook before he can pay the balance.

All i want to know is if we need the Logbook to ship the Car out of UK, cos i have done history checkm on the car and everything is perfect.

Best to ask the relevant authorities in Nigeria.

Thanks, Nigerians authority do not require the Logbook for anything. My brother in UK is insisting on the Logbook before he can pay for the car, but according to the Dealer, he has lost the logbook due to one reason or the other. Another thing is that i have carried out a full history check on the Vehicle and everything is ok with the car. I just want to find out if we really need the Logbook to ship this car out of UK?

Thanks

If you're shipping the car out of the UK then you need to inform the DVLA. All you really need is the registration certificate (V5) which is a blue/green piece of paper (although it may be red as the DVLA are slowly changing them all to red) and i think its section C you fill out and return it to the DVLA. In a couple of weeks they'll mail you a certificate of export showing the DVLA know the vehicle is no longer UK registered. If you dont do this then the DVLA will eventually want to know where the vehicle is and if its taken abroad without this paperwork completed it'll be logged as stolen.
