Evening all..... I pretty much know where this is going but will ask anyway. For the last 3 weeks my Mondeo has been locking itself whilst driving and not unlocking the boot with the rest of the doors.. Yesterday we cleaned it as we are thinking of selling it and when I went to put it away it would not start and just gave a rapid clicking.. After a couple of attempts it started but tonight when I got back and tried it it has the same clicking but will not start... Any ideas thet dont involve the words Starter and Motor would be greatly appreciated. The door locks are probably just coincidence but could this be a battery issue?? Read more

HI, When I start the van the engine just cuts out unless I drive it right away. When I come to a stop the engine cuts out as well. While driving without stopping there are no problems and it drives perfect. The battery light comes on when I come to a stop. I take it this would be most likely a battery fault? Thanks Read more

The battery light would come on if the engine stops as its not being charged. I would suggest that you take it to a diesel specialist, they usually know what they are doing and are cheaper than a garage.

I like to reverse into my drive, which is downhill (in) and slightly curved at the end. It’s shared, so I like to park close to the edge, which is adjacent to a lawn. The drive and lawn are separated by a concrete edging, about 2 inches wide, and at virtually the same level.

The problem is that the reversing lights on my current car are quite high and I find it difficult to see the edge. How can I mark the edging to make it easy to see, given that I sometimes need to drive over it to park on the lawn.

Any neat and simple ideas, please? Read more

I missed this thread, as ChrisM above try an extra light or two and you'll be amazed.

My pick up came with one measly reversing light on the NS only and about as much use as a chocolate teapot....its twin that should have been the other side was the rear fog lamp on euro spec vehicles....

Lee, I think you should search this forum for threads on this model - look particularly in Technical up to 1 year back - and you'll see a particular thread that had 100 posts.

Thanks people!

I've not parked my car off road as I'm not the only person insured to drive it. I've sent my driving licence with new address details filled in off to DVLA under advice from 'honest john' and will see what happens...fingers crossed!!...

Good evening

my lovely old Toyota has started to make a ticking noise when driving straight and accelerating hard, in 3/4/5th gears. The sound comes from around the passenger well, its not the cv's, possibly gearbox. I use the van for towing a caravan. Any suggestions or possible cures please. Shes old and has done 122K.... i recently moved bought a house and before i moved in the next door neighbours removed a dividing hedge and built a brick wall without any kind of discussion.

I complained to them that the wall had reduced my driveway access but they disputed this and refused to discuss the matter.... Read more

I had one of these years ago and , yes it was in London. I found which was the nearest police station to where the alleged offence took place and reported it as a cloning attempt and got an incident/crime number, adding that I had an independent witness who could confirm the car on the day at the time as being not in London. Sent this back-never heard another word.
