hello. ive got a vw t5 1.9tdi and recently its been blowing cold air when stationery but as soon as i bring then revs up or drive it then the heater blows hot air as normal but if i slow down the air cools down and when i stop for traffic lights ect it blows cold again. ive flushed out the heater matrix and that was not blocked, iam thinking waterpump? but not sure, so can anyone help??? thanks Read more

I have just made my 1st claim in 30 years this week for a non fault claim and found the insurance claim process quite harrowing, after the process of calling the insurance co, then management co (direct assist) and the following calls from everyone I am worried about the car hire process from Direct Assist as they charge £63 a day for Astra which is high they say i'm not at fault and the other insurance co have admitted liability but i might have to pay also i have just moved my insurance policy from the 1st Dec to another company as they were cheaper but have put up my premium £50 even though i was not at fault, is this just another con by the insurance company and can i claim againt the other party for the extra ?... I had a vaguely similar case earlier this year (I also have a Mazda 6). Had small accident just 4 days from the end of my existing ins policy. I had already renewed with another ins co, so once the accident had occurred I had to ring my about-to-be new ins co and tell them that the original details I'd gievn them 3 weeks previously had changed, and that I was currently involved in a claim....
Hi there, One of my indicator stalks had broken so I bought a new unit, replaced it this afternoon and that seems to work fine. Last weekend I did the same thing to have a look at the unit, put it back together and there were no problems.
My problem is that now the van wont start. I checked the battery with a multi meter, thats fine. All the lights come on on the dash and everything but the motor wont turn over at all. The key moves all the way into position. I suspect that the problem is something to do with the immobiliser..... ... Read more

Any MPV. Take the seats out, it is a van.
Front and rear rightside parking lights are staying on 24/7. Manual shows how to turn them on but not off! All light controls, indicators, beam are in their off position. Have tried to remove various fuses but no luck. Warning beep in car sounds as soon as door is opened presumeable to let us know about the parking ( side lights) but can't turn them off. Any one know how to cure this problem. Read more
This is probably a manifestation of a 20 year old VAG design fault.
The indicator switch internally, is an assembly of sliding contacts made from copper segments. The metal is soft, contact pressures high and the lubricant inappropriate. Eventually, copper frag builds up in the switch and shorts it out. Often, the manifestation is a flasher unit which won't stop ticking....
Hi, dont know if anyone can help but I'm tring to find my first car a Triumph Spitfire mk2 reg GOB 637D. I've been on the DVLC web site and found out that she's been on a SORN for the last 7 years ,but the trail has now gone cold, Is there any way of finding the owner, the DVLC will not give out this information. I have tried Triumph owners club but she's never been registered, I've even tried classic car magazines.......if I'm lucky she's locked in someones gerage if not she's in a field full up with roosting chickens.....I may never know !!
The car is making a tinny, scraping noise at around 2250 rpm in all gears. At any other rpm it doesn't happen. It does not make the noise when revving the car through that rev band in park or neutral.

Hi. Can anyone offer us any ideas as to what might be wrong with our 52 plate Audi TT xenon headlight please? We have had this problem for a long while, and despite several trips to the garage, it is still not fixed. The off side headlight sometimes refuses to light up. If it does come on, it will stay on all day. If it does not light, it will be off all day. Turning the lights off and on can make it light up. There is an 'bulb failed' light in the dash on the occasions that it fails to light, but their is no error logged in the cars's ecu. The garages (Audi maindealer and independant specialist) have swapped the bulbs over. We have also had a new transformer fitted (at great expense) but still got the problem. It seems that the garages are at a loss to to know what to do if there is no error messages telling them...
HI I have had lpg since 2000 and had to have the pump replaced once in this time after it stopped working. This time the system works ok when going a long, but as soon as i slow down and am just comming to a hault it stalls. I do not have any problem when in petrol mode. At the moment when I am in town I switched to petrol to save emabarresment !! Is there anything i can check myself , to avoid garage costs. Thanks Read more
Normally caused by a mixture correction issue with LPG or small air leak.

Hi I have a exactly the same problem with my T5 2006 model, replaced a new water pump, new thermostat, checked heater matrix but still no luck, can u advice me further if you have cured the problem, my local machanic says it might be air trap so as driving along it might start but doing that for a over a week still no difference any help please....
