Can anybody recommend a specialist who could repair an odometer for a 20 year old Alfa?
I have tried Cluster Repairs Ltd in Norfolk who claimed to be able to fix it but they charged £55 for a "repair" that made no difference at all so I need somebody more reliable. Read more
Just got my car back from the garage after having the clutch replaced, spark plugs and ignition coils. Driven the car around 10 miles and the engine warning light has come on. I used a car code reader and it gave me the code 01 pend 00. Does anyone know what the problem may be? There is nothing that appears to be wrong with the car and it is driving perfect. Hi there
We have a van which we have had from new last year. It's only done 8000 miles and there is a problem with the power steering. The van loses the power steering at low speeds - which is when you need it! - and the dealer Bussey's Peugeot in Norwich, say that as Peugeot won't fund any repair, they won't repair it.... Read more
My car suffers almost total power loss once up to running temperature but usually performs normally when cold. Diagnosis from a Bosch specialist says the turbo actuator has failed and that a new turbo is the answer. As several versions of turbo are fitted to this model, the only way to find out which part is needed is to remove the old turbo (the part number is inside). I am told that BMW could provide this information but that they will not unless they are doing the work. As the cost is about 1000 plus fitting plus VAT, is there a way I can reduce the the cost? sticking variable vanes on a BMW turbo is very common.
I would suggest you find a specialist who is prepared to clean it, its very sucessful, by either stripping it and cleaning or usings a cleaning system. They are out there on the market. Its a 4 process chemical clean, a little like oven cleaning and I have seen these used with great sucess as well. Its common practice in the states.
Certain display lights on the instrument cluster are not working, indicator light, fog light main beam light and the door indicator light stays on with all doors closed. all other lights are OK and all the external lights and indicators are working normally. Read more
I am transferring a reg from one vehicle to another (both mine). I understand that I will receive new tax discs quite quickly but that the new V5 certs will take longer. Should I / can I wait for the V5 before putting new plates on the vehicles? And, if I do delay the replating, at what stage should I notify my insurer? Finally, with all the ANPR devices that are around, is there a transition period when both reg numbers (old & new) will be treated as valid? - and, if not, at what stage of the transfer is ANPR programmed with the new reg? Thanks for any advice! Read more

Matiz was stalling for past year at low revs and junctions (intermittently). Then starting jerking, misfiring and stalling constantly. After 4 garage visits I have paid out £800.New leads and plugs, new petrol tank, new cat and front exhaust. Cleaned Iac valve. New map sensor has cured the problem of the misfiring and jerking after stalling, but car still stalls (just once) everyday but starts again with no problem.Just before it stalls, very audible rattling from exhaust gets louder. I have been assured this is not linked and its just something (stone) in the box. I am not so sure. This is now my last attempt at sorting it before I send it to scrappies. I love my car and apart from this stalling, it runs well, and only 44k on clock.Should I try a new Iac valve as last option?? Diagnostics does not bring up any problem. About to give up.. Read more
