I recently purchased a three year old VW Passat from the main VW main dealer. They carried out the three year service as part of the purchase contract. When I studied the service schedule the brake fluid change was ticked not changed! This should have been changed! I contacted the dealer and they said that they had not changed it because it had been changed at a pervious service, a quick check of the service schedule proved this not to be true. The car has just completed 30,000 miles so there would not have been a reason to change it earlier.
Following further discussions I was told that they would do it free of charge next time the car was in?... Read more

I'm hoping that I can draw on someone's knowledge of Citroens to help me identify and stop a mysterious, mechanical activity that my Citroen C2 1.6 GT carries out approximately 35 secods after the key is removed.
The best way to describe it is a "Click.....Click. Whirrrrrrrrr" noise. You can hear an amplified recording here: http://audioboo.fm/boos/497960-citroen-click-click-whirring.
The first click emanates from behind the glove box in the engine bay. The second click and whirring comes from behind the dashboard on the driver's side.
This continues at 35/40 sec intervals until either the battery goes flat or I return to the vehicle.

A slow and tedious method which might, however trace the problem, would be to remove fuses one at a time until you find what is powering the 'whirring' noise.
Might be quicker to remove relays, this may stop the click which may be supplying power to the 'whirr'.
Hi everyone,

Its also worth pointing out that you'll need trade plates to use said vehicle on the road, if you dont have them already.

I'm looking for some advice. I currently run a 2003 Mondeo LX 1.8 and I am looking to downsize to something like a Ford Focus or a Hyundai I30. For approximately the same money I can get a Ford Focus 1.6 Style 2008 plate or a Hyundai 1.4 Classic 2011 plate having done 10-15k mileage. The nearest Hyundai garage is 30 odd miles away (needed to maintain the 5 years warranty) or I can get the Focus serviced practically anywhere.
Does anybody have any strong views either way, Ford or Hyundai?... Read more
Also you might get some warranty with the Hyundai; they have a 5 year policy whereby you get 5 years' worth of warranty with a new one, but can transfer it on to the next owner provided the car is under 5 years old when you do so.
My nana needs a new car and she has given me a list of requirements. I said I’d look into it for her and try to find a suitable car. Her requirements are:

I'd agree with those mentioning a Honda Jazz, Toyota Yaris, Nissan Micra and Ford Fiesta. I'd avoid Freanch and Italian cars on reliability grounds.

Get yourself a simple test light with sharp point, then by getting behind the rear light clusters on your car you will soon sort out which is which.
after having had a new dual mass flywheel and clutch fitted to my car should the pedal be very light (considerably more than before) should the biting point be towards the top of the pedal travel ie 3/4 of the way up and should this have affected my brakes making them less responsive / sharp. Take the car back and let them check it out and whilst there find out what make they fitted.
