Hi there, I am hoping someone may be able to help me.
I am getting a 'STOP check coolant' light coming on (usually during start up in the morning). The first time I checked my coolant it was low so topped it up.
When it came on again I checked and the level in the water header tank was on the max level. I topped it up some more and it cleared it for another 2 days then the warning light came on again. I top it up above the max and each time and it clears the warning light. The tank is pressurised and I can't find any sign of a leak. This morning it came on and there were some traces of throf in the water tank and someone mentioned Head Gasket...I checked the main oil cap and there were no signs of any mayo/throf and no sign of white smoke from the exhaust. No signs of loss of power or my temp gague increasing at all.
Does anyone have any ideas? Could it be the sensor is knackered or stuck?
Any help would be much appreciated.

I had this on a 115 tdi about 5 years ago and the obvious thing is the head gasket especially if you're getting froth in the expansion tank. I had an exhaust gas test done on mine which was fine so it only left 1 thing it could be and that was a hairline crack in the cylinder head. If that's the case you either need a new head or try what I did and put some K Seal in the coolant. That worked a treat for me and I didn't have any problems with it after that.

Hi I have a Jap Imported Toyota Hitop Campervan/Camping Car. Its a 4 berth convertion with two double rear seats that form a large double bed Or with a rear shelf and the back seat we can also have a double bed with loads of space at the front. I have a problem that I can not get sorted with the electrics nor it seems can Toyota UK. It is the Cigarette Lighter/Sart Nav Socket - Clock - Interior light circuit. It seems the fuse has blown and I just cant trace where the fuse box is located. I have searched everywhere. There is a fuse panel to the lower right of the steering column but these look like serious main engine fuses. There is also a fuse panel in the rear that serves the water Pump and interior rear lighting/campervan sort of lecky bits. I am desperate for help with this. Can someone steer me in the right direction. I have tried all the suggested places that have been posted on the internet as it seems that this is a problem for Hi Ace owners

Here's an interesting one to ponder.

A relative has an '80s house with the original open flued C/H boiler. Attempting to get this changed has thrown up something of a conundrum.... Read more

Would it true to say that this particular model is heat only and has no hot water facility.

If you mean it lacks a seperate H/W flow as in a combi, then yes. It's yer "bog" setup with a copper tank sat next to it. Usual motorised valve to bias the circulation between H/W and C/H.

Having never used a Blue Disability Card I displayed the wrong side and have been given two parking tickets. This is because the warden cannot read the expiry date. Since the council issue the card it would seem to be a relatively simple matter to verify the expiry date, and if such information is so important it should surely be displayed on both sides of the card. Quite often even if it has expired but you display it the correct way up it looks less suspicious and plods dont bother looking at the expiration date. My mother had to do this on a few occasions because despite applying for her renewal on her blue badge 8 weeks in advance of the expiration date (when she was told to) and being approved it still took 12 weeks for it to be delivered.

And when you get your new one they tell you to send your old one back because they know Plod doesnt bother reading expiration dates also.

I have recently purchased a low mileage Agila and whilst I am generaaly happy with the vehicle it suffers from the Vauxhall problem of indicators non cancelling at times particularily on the nearside. You have to virtually to a complete left turn before they will cancel and when they do not cancel it is more like when you are going on a slight left turn. Any other vehicle I have owned or driven over the past 40 driving years cancel without any problems but I seem to recall that previous Vauxhalls I have owned, there have been 3, although some years ago had a similar problem.I have taken the vehicle back to the dealership with other issues that have been resolved and even been on a test drive with a technican but the response I got from the Vauxhall Service Manager when challenged about this failing was " they leave the factory like that". Its obvious that the people who design these things never have to drive them or have never driven normal vehicles with easy cancelling indicators. I also drove a courtesy brand new Corsa while the Agila was being repaired and the operation of the indicators completely fooled me in the short time I drove it. What is it with VAUXHALL and indicators? Read more

The indicators are usually reset by a simple mechanical ring mounted on the steering column. It will be directly underneath the indicator stalk. If you remove the cover over the stalks (usually a couple of screws on the bottom of the cover) you may see a plastic ring around the steering column. It should have a slot cut in it. When the slot goes past the indicator stalk it nudges it and it resets the indicators. It's common for the ring to become loose or get slightly misplaced. Take your time, and an adjustment with an Allen-key usually does the trick. It's simpler than it sounds, as once you've got the cover off, it's self-evident what you need to do.

Try letting the level drop to the MIN mark, but not below.

I had a car that would chuck out any coolant that was more than halfway above the MIN level.

Is it just me or is the throttle response on this car really poor. I can really feel lag between my right foot and the engine revs. I read somebody say they used a cable in the Panda (same car more or less) which makes the driver feel much more connected. First time I have driven a drive by wire car and i'm not impressed.

Does anybody know if there is a solution / modification fo this. It really spoils what would otherwise would be a good car. Can it be re-mapped? Not spotted any solutions on the web so far.... Read more
