can you buy a lead/adaptor that will connect one cars cigar lighter to another?
I ask because I have a Blackspur battery charger/booster that connects via clamps, but also has a cigar lighter socket.
If I could connect the booster via the 2 cigar lighter sockets I could trickle charge, without having to stand outside to keep the boot open (where the battery is on my model.)

I have just purchased a 4 year old fiesta 1.4 petrol with only 11k on the clock. I have done an oil and filter change and filled up with good quality fuel. Can anyone reccomend any fuel or oil additives or should i just give it a good run on the motorway? Read more
HI - I'm driving to Italy in Ocotober and returning via Austrian and Germany in November. I have read I need winter (M&S - mud and slush rated) tyres after October 15. Is this true? Can I pack a set of chains just in case? Or shall I bite the bullet?
Any recommendations of winter tyres for noise and performance? What makes Not to buy?... Read more
I'm interested in the Peugeot 3008, would need an auto and may use it often for journeys of less than ten miles a day so assumed a petrol engine would be better than diesel. Our local dealer could not find the petrol auto 3008 on his list. We test-drove the diesel, which I understand to be a semi-auto, and would prefer a full automatic if available.
Is there any issue with availability or reliability of the 3008 petrol auto? ... Read more
Earlier, for the second time the blower continued after I had switched off the ignition. It would not stop on its own! Eventually after pressing various buttons and switching ignition off and on it stopped and I could leave the car. Any suggestions please? Read more
As elekie has said probably the final stage resistor or hedgehog. If you like working upside down with your head in the drivers footwell then it is not too bad to change. Here is a useful link about how to do change it:
I have a 2010 Volvo C70 which has been treated with GardX. I do not garage this car and do not run it during the worst of the winter weather, (i.e snow) as I also have a Suzuki Jimny. During the worst of the winter weather should I consider protecting the Volvo with a car cover as can be purchased on popular auction sites? Will this cause any damage to my paintwork? Will it cause condensation to form under the cover which may damage the car? Should I just leave it out there naked to suffer the winter weather? Any comments or experiences please? Read more
I am looking for a second set of 15 inch alloys for my Hyundai i30 (2008) on which I can put some winter tyres. I haven't costed new ones at the dealers as I suspect they will be v. expensive so has anyone any ideas on where I may pick up a second hand set? Not turned up much from local scrap yards or ebay.
Googling 'i30 alloys' hasn't really turned up much so wondered if I should be looking for something else as a search string. Tyre size at the moment is 185/65 R15 - wheels are 5 stud.... Read more
Interesting for me this. When looking for tyres I have also noticed that the 'correct' size appears to be 195/65 R15 so presumably the alloys that currently have the 185's on would also take 195's also?
I am really torn between buying a set of steelies for the winter tyres or whether to just stick a set of all weather tyres on the wheels that I have....
I recently bought an 06 registered Audi A6 from a reputabale dealer (but not an Audi dealer).

Have you got a receipt from the fuel station that you filled up at? Does it state that it was diesel that you bought. If so, let the dealer see this to prove that you have only put diesel in it since you took delivery of the car and put the onus of any petrol being put it in back on them.
The spanner light has appeared on my dash.
The peddle test revealed trouble code relating to the PDF P2452. I took the car out for a few long journeys to give the DPF chance to regenerate to no avail.
Long story but I've been back and forth to Thorney Motorsport, they have carried out diagnostics, regenerated the PDF, changed a PDF sensor and updated the ECU. As far as they are concerned all seems to be working OK but I still have the spanner light on.
The garage passed all their findings on to VX technical and the response was, 'It MAY be the ECU'.
Before going down the ECU route I just wanted to put it out there to see if anyone had similar experiences or suggestions.
The car runs and drives as it should but the spanner light remains on. Read more
The spanner lamp on a Vauxhall is a fault warning lamp, and is not exclusive to the engine management system. There could be a fault relating to other modules on the car. You will need to have a scan test using diagnostic equipment able to communicate with these to give you an idea of where the fault lies. A Vauxhall dealer or specialist may be the best place to go.

Those sockets aren't always live. My Nissan needs the key in the ignition turned to the accessory position before the socket's powered up.
