BMW E46 - Climate control - neil99

Earlier, for the second time the blower continued after I had switched off the ignition. It would not stop on its own! Eventually after pressing various buttons and switching ignition off and on it stopped and I could leave the car. Any suggestions please?

Very common problem on many Bmw models caused by a faulty fan speed final stage control unit commonly known as the heater "hedgehog".Part cost around £50.Access from drivers footwell area.hth

As elekie has said probably the final stage resistor or hedgehog. If you like working upside down with your head in the drivers footwell then it is not too bad to change. Here is a useful link about how to do change it:
