It's unfortunate but fair. The even wear is a giveaway of pretty bad clutch riding. Hydraulically operated clutches have very light pedals and it's easy to slip the clutch by resting your foot on it.
Old drivers are often terrified of stalling and rev their engines unnecessarily. Once they learn that even a hill start requires no throttle, and to not touch the gas until their foot is off the clutch, very often their confidence returns. The clutch is happier too.
Just renewed DMF on this car. Original part number was GM 55562239 (Sachs) and the replacement P/N is GM 555576165. Is there a difference? Was this an upgrade? Was there a problem with the initial type as there seem to be quite a few earlier model Insignias with clutch problems. Read more

Hoses are much more durable than they used to be - they are also very expensive, I would check the price before you are tempted to order some.
I have a Mondeo, that has the wrong stereo in it. It currently has a 3000Traffic which does not work with the column steering controls. Which Stereo should be in it?

The 6000 rds eon is the correct unit for this car.Models with column control functions have an extra(small) multi plug on the rear of the unit.hth

Since buying it in October, I've noticed some strange behaviour from my 306's wipers. The 1 wipe and constant settings work okay, but the intermittent doesn't. It does about 4 wipes at the wrong speed before parking the blades in the middle of the windsdcreen. The fast wipe setting does something similar, though the blades do move at the right speed.... Hi, I have a 607 with an almost dead mono display screen, it seems the colour ones are far easier to get hold of from the breakers!
