honda jazz - clutch - cks

My fathers 4 year old Jazz and 2000 miles on the clock has just needed a new clutch! Honda would not make any contribution to repair as they said as it was even wear he must be riding it. The charge was 5 pence under £800 from the main dealer near redhill was it taken for a ride

honda jazz - clutch - Falkirk Bairn

A widow of a former teacher of mine (mid - late 80s) drove through 3 clutches in Yaris 6000/7000 miles setting off a 3,000+ revs.

No car now, too dangerous in the opinion of her 2 sons

It's unfortunate but fair. The even wear is a giveaway of pretty bad clutch riding. Hydraulically operated clutches have very light pedals and it's easy to slip the clutch by resting your foot on it.

Old drivers are often terrified of stalling and rev their engines unnecessarily. Once they learn that even a hill start requires no throttle, and to not touch the gas until their foot is off the clutch, very often their confidence returns. The clutch is happier too.
