Does anyone know if Ford sells (or did sell) a 4 wheel drive version of the S-Max or the Galaxy? I thought that I saw a road test a few years ago where they took an AWD version of the S-max up to the Alps.

A 4 wheel drive Galaxy would be very handy.... Read more

The Galaxy was offered in 4WD form using the 2.8 VW V6 engine and 4WD transmission. That was the old Galaxy/Sharan/Alhambra-the current Galaxy and S Max are only 2WD.

background on car. driving along engine overheated. found aux belts come off and wrapped around viscous fan. tensioner pulley had broken. replaced tensioner and belts with new parts as old ones broken/damaged. topped up coolant, and bled system, run engine, heat through heating, then no heat and then engine overheat. had codes read, came up with coolant temperature sensor issue, replaced sensor assy and thermostat as comes as one unit. top up + bleed cooling system - still overheating. strip down cooling system, checked water pump, oil cooler, flushed radiator and heater matrix, flushed coolant hoses - no issues found, refit all parts, refill cooling system, guess what - still overheats.

am out of ideas now, any help appreciated thanks. ... Read more

How to bleed the cooling system. 1.Jack the front of the vehicle up onto stands as high as possible, 2.Turn the ignition on,engine off, heater on fan setting 1 and temperature fully hot, 3.Remove the rad cap/expansion cap, remove the bleed screw from the radiator and IF you have them the bleed screw(s) from the thermostat housing/top hose, return pipe or EGR thermostat. 4.Fill the radiator up and keep pouring till there are no more air bubbles coming out from the bleeds, using a funnel that fits tight in the radiator neck and filling it full of water will help push any troublesome air out, when good you can then install the bleeds and tighten down(don't snap them),ensure the rubber O-rings/seals are still on the screws/on the bleed holes. 5.Suck some water out so it's not full to the brim, replace the cap and then start the car. Run her up and check for heat from the vents when warm and check if over heating still persists. You may have to bleed troublesome cars twice(but rare). 6.If all is good then check the water level again in the morning when cool. ive had a couple of bmws and they are a nightmare to bleed, and if you get no joy with the above method then try it again but then leaving overnight to let it settle and hopefully get rid of any more air in the system,,obviously check levels again in the morning before you try to start and top up again if necessary, dont overfill it tho as in right to the top and as you are pouring the water in initially dont get cheesed off and fill it as quick as possible pour it in as slowly as you can, this stops you from getting as much air in in the 1st place

Hi Guys,

Just a quick question for anyone with information about Audis. Ive got a 2001 A3 1.6 sport which has a terrible misfire once the engine starts getting warm/up to temperature. It doesnt happen when the engine is cold.... Read more

Hi

Ive had the same sort of problem on my 1999 1.6 sport, when cold it seems to sit and pur nicely, then as soon as its clocked a few miles, it seems to have a rough idle, reving itsself???! also when accelerating i notice it seems to be really flat, then unfortunately it decided to start using oil :( i took my car to dialynx performance in swindon, those guys are wizards! my engine breather pipe , which works on a valve, was split and blocked, which made my car choke when warm (when it needed more air) and therefor started swallowing oil!, i spent £100 for this small part to be changed, and honestly havent had a problem since ! touch wood ......

If you have money to throw away remap same goes for diesel chip tuning what are you trying to achieve? A faster or more economical car? I would't bother.

Apologies to everyone for re-opening this thread, but this is for my own sanity as much as anything.

Having previously read and posted on the old thread about the Hyundai delays on iX35 orders, I can now provide an update on the saga of my order (2.0CRDi Premium 2WD, Sirius Silver, No Packs). Originally placed on 14th June and delivery date given as August/September, then pushed out to October, then November, then December, and then last update was January/February. I have today received a brand spanky new.... expected delivery date of March/April!!... Read more

If the IX35 is like the Santa Fe, there are several options in the HALO software for auto locking and for auto unlock. Sadly many Hyundai dealers don't seem to bother asking the customer which options they want! My Santa Fe autolocks at 20mph which is fine but doesn't auto unlock until the ignition key is removed - I'll get it changed soon to unlock as soon a Park is engaged.

Like "carazy", I've switched from Subaru to Hyundai, in my case from Outback to Santa Fe, and I'm enjoying the Santa Fe's handling which is very like the high-riding Subaru versions, more so than a 2011 Subaru Outback which has gone transcontinental and soft.

I'.ve just spent £800.00 on new injectors at 30000miles half of which was on good quality, home made biodiesel. Has anyone else had this problem? Read more

I meant to mention that in the above post - 659 is correct - its also known as the torsion value. I was thinking there was such a pinion tool as well. Maybe it was just used to set from new??

It is a fiddling thing I know that. as it is within the +/-3 tolerance. You probably are correct that more is made of the adjustment than is warranted. Just that it is pretty easy to access Im a bit curious if it would be causing the slightest of an improvement to the issue I stated above.

Either way, I take it Im not going to cause any piston hit valve scenario by adjusting within the oval slots on the cam belt pulley? Bolts are central in these slots now.

Hi all, looking to replace under used Almera with more cost friendly city car. Both the Aygo and Panda have good reviews and apart from styling there's not much between them. The functional shape of the Panda appeals, but the Aygo's modern looks are great. My concern with the Aygo is the water leaks, does anyone know if this is sorted now? Suprisingly the Panda appears very reliable according to surveys, and James May apparently owns one, but which is the better choice?

At Last! received call on Wednesday from dealer saying that the key had arrived and that it would take about half an hour to put code in. Took Aygo in yesterday and after a lot of hanging about, 1hr 10 minutes to be precise, I was given spare key. It's just a standard key, not remote, not sure if this is usually the case, but just relieved to have a key, and say goodbye Toyota. Have experienced great customer service from Glyn Hopkin Leyton, and they are more than happy to carry out future servicing on the Aygo.

After a 5 week wait, I can really start enjoying the Aygo fully, thanks again for all your advice.

Coil plastic had shattered, spark plug had blown.
Replaced coil + set of plugs. Now runs fine.
Though I don't know what damage I might have done to the cat, driving around on 3-cylinders.
