bling thing

I have just put a deposit on a Fiesta (£100) then had Dekra carry out an inspcetion on said vehicle, a few small faults were listed. I went down to have a chat with the dealer to sort things out, only to find he was using the car to run around in. Q. have I got any grounds to ask for my deposit back. I fill that the Dekra report is now not worth the paper it is written on. The millage on the report and what it is now will be differant and I don't how the car has been treated. (bumped up curbs hit pot holes.) Any advice? Many Thanks. Should add second hand car value £9000 Read more

The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 require that a deposit is refunded if anything untoward is revealed in any checks you make or if issues with the vehicle have changed since you agreed to the purchase.

Once the deposit is taken the car should effectively be restricted to pre-prep and dealing with any service issues.

It is clear that the mileage would have changed and if you want to walk away your deposit should be returned to you. If he refuses then the remedy is the small claims court.

Hi Lucy,

What is the minimum sized vehicle that can park in a marked loading only bay on the road ?... Read more

Thats what I thought. Yesterday I received a PCN from a council for stopping in a loading bay.

I went into the suppliers it was outside of and purchased goods then drove off. All of about 5 minutes. I was pictured on a cctv camera which showed a still photo of my car in the bay and then a close up still of my number plate....

Hi, I have a problem with my Vauxhall Vectras stereo model number CD30. I can be driving along, put the stereo on and the sound will be perfect but then I get very loud interference, a crackling as if the signal strentgh is weakened. It happens while listening to a cd to so can't be signal related.

It happens on all speakers (used fader/balance functions etc.)... Read more

hi iv just changed the turbo on my scenic it runs an drives but a bit sluggish in first gear its not responding revs seem to be low ,also when the turbo blew there was a lot ov oil in the air ducts which i have cleaned ,the air duct pipe going into the intercooler keeps blowing off ,i think there could be blockage mabey oil. what do you think, thanx blue1965 Read more

Peter.N.

Certainly sounds possible, I would be inclined to take it off and give it a good wash out with hot detergent water. I wouldn't think oil by itself would block it but it may have a lot of crud stuck to it. If you could take a pressure reading either end that would confirm it, or temporaraly connect the in and out pipe together and try it.

hi im pretty new to this site although i have been following recent posts and have been impressed with the knowledge thats been passed around. I own a Peugeot 308 1.6hdi (millage is 33k) and for while its been making a low pitch whine from around the auxiliary belt area, i took it to my local dealer two weeks ago who said that most likely a new belt would be required although they had none in stock so i had to wait to today before the work was carried out.

When i picked it up earlier the noise was still there so i waited for a mechanic to listen and they said they're not sure what it is! its going for further inspection 2marrow as there is only two day's of manufacturer's warranty remaining. was wondering if any body here has heard of similar stories with hdi engines. thanks Read more
