Hi,
My daugthers Ibiza 1.9tdi (2003 plated with 46k) has recently developed, what she is describing as a squeak (like the movement of rubber) which is most noticeable during gear changes when there is some engine rocking motion. As I know nothing about these sorts of issues and don't know where to start looking ,can anyone offer any suggestions or have had a similar experience.
She does think that is worsening though !.
Many thanks.

I dropped the wrong half of the business?
Did you work for the Bank of England and have a printing press?
I just got a 2nd hand Corolla, very few miles. The usual good bargain, alas an old lady had departed this world and the family were clearing out. Alas They could not find the Spare keys, nor the Owners manual. Well the keys I can sort, but does anyone have a spare manual or know where I can get one.
I can figure out most of the Gizmos etc, but it would be an advantage in using the trip computer etc.
Thanks all

Yes I bought the wifes Fabia 1.2 Sport as an ex motability car 6 months old with 511 miles on the clock.
A local garage just down the road and he gets quite a few in with low mileage but he's never had one as low as this before. Absolutely as new condition with even proper Fabia carpets in the boot still not fitted. He thought the owner must have passed away.
Took it for its first 12 month service in October with 2836 miles on it.
Please dont bother telling me she could have a taxi or even a chauffeur driven limousine for less. You tell her..
Mind you I'm no great example as my Vectra 98 diesel bought new has still only 41K on the clock and most of that has been on the Continent.
But even that is well eclipsed by a friend down the road who has recently bought his second new Renault Scenic diesel. Believe it or not he uses it once a year towing his caravan through France. Other than that it never leaves its garage except to polish it. His wifes car is the only one used.

{year and engine found via forum search. Assume correct? Helps make the question less vague} Read more
Clutch problem symptoms--engaging nearer/nearer to floor, causing grinding.Indicated master/slave cylinder failure.Garage replaced same---no improvement. This indicated clutch failure. When gearbox was removed problem was found to be a bent clutch fork
Master/slave cylinder,clutch kit +clutch fork total cost parts+labour=950Euros.
This may be of interest to other drivers with similar clutch problems!!!!!!

A kindly soul managed to smash the drivers side door mirror glass this afternoon. The electric movement mechanism still seems to work so it looks like just the glass needs replacing. Can anyone advise how to do this? Thanks Read more
Yes - exactly the same as the broken one. I was pleasantly surprised as I went expecting to pay £40 ish.
I bought a Vw beetle on W reg with 2.0 petrol engine. It has got a yellow oil warning light on - instruction manual says it means oil level low. The level is fine and the oil pressure is fine as well. There is no noise from the engine. On code scanner no fault code shown. Then my mechanic changed the oil and filter, and checked all the switches on the engine for oil level. The problem has gone worse - the light goes to red and flashes when you rev it over 1500 rpm.
Changing back to the original filter did not help.
Anyone could suggest any other switches?
Thanks Read more
Some VWs have a bonnet catch switch that changes the fuelling when the bonnet is open. I've known a fault in that switch or wiring put the oil level lamp on. Has the sump sensor actually been changed?
A red lamp is pressure, not level, and a flashing red is a fault in the speed-related secondary pressure system.
The instrument pod has fault-codes and live-data; so getting it plugged in might show something.
Hi, I am a complete newby to this wonderful site and wonder if someone can help me?
I have a 2004 Mondeo TDCi.
Same problem as lots of drivers - Driving along minding my own business then all of a sudden the car loses power and the glow plug light flashes. No problems when starting but doesn't sound as healthy as it should do.
I have found out the fault code is P132B but it comes up as 'unknown'! Anyone any knowledge of this code?
The problem is what to do about it?
Having spoken to 3 or 4 different garages it seems the general concensus is that it is one (or all) of the injectors. Ford quoted me astronomical prices but offered me a car whilst they do the work.
Another garage has said that I could have re-conditioned ones but they may won't last as long as new ones. Anyone any experience of re-cond ones?
Another garage has said that having alll four re-programmed should solve the problem. Anyone agree / disagree with this?
Anther garage suggested it may be the filter (?) as I have not had it changed since I bought the car in March.
Thanking you in advance for any helpyou an give.

Hi i have same problem. code p 132b. what is the name of fault sensor?
I own a 1998 (early phase 2 mk1) Laguna 1.6 16v Sport.
It has a problem with the switch which operates the fan. It only seems to work on number 4 which means it is either off or you have a force 10 gale blowing in your face!!!!
Does anyone know how this can be rectified? I know it will be a case of replacing a switch or something similar but don't know what or where to look!
Thanks,

Well spotted and said snipquote, our 1996 laguna had the heater control speed problem , it was exactly as is said, the problem is the thermal fuse, they now cost £1.85 from the domestic electrical repair man so they have gone up a tad since 2008, if you cannot read the number the colour will tell you the temp cut out, in the lagunas case it is blue which will melt if the temp goes above 110 degrees, the unit tucks into the fan itself so the passing air will keep it cool in theory, you can buy higher cut out fuses for example red will cut out at 150 degrees, a scrapyard will probally sell you the whole resistor box for £20.00 chances are the thermal fuse has blown on that!

Seat main agent appears to be the only option as far as having the wishbone bushes replaced (special tool needed, which does not suprise me)
Other option would have been to replace complete wishbones both sides which have the bushes and in some cases ,new ball joints also.
Seat main agent quoted 2 hrs labour at £140 plus £30 for the new bushes all of course plus VAT.
Squeak has stopped, tracking checked and adjusted and all is now well.
Seat say that they have replaced a lot of these bushes and the ones on the Leon have been modified but not those on the Ibiza.
If anyone has the same symtoms then this thread may be of help.
