2004 TDCi - flashing Glow Plug Again! Code P132B - Huntedfox
Hi, I am a complete newby to this wonderful site and wonder if someone can help me?

I have a 2004 Mondeo TDCi.

Same problem as lots of drivers - Driving along minding my own business then all of a sudden the car loses power and the glow plug light flashes. No problems when starting but doesn't sound as healthy as it should do.

I have found out the fault code is P132B but it comes up as 'unknown'! Anyone any knowledge of this code?

The problem is what to do about it?

Having spoken to 3 or 4 different garages it seems the general concensus is that it is one (or all) of the injectors. Ford quoted me astronomical prices but offered me a car whilst they do the work.

Another garage has said that I could have re-conditioned ones but they may won't last as long as new ones. Anyone any experience of re-cond ones?

Another garage has said that having alll four re-programmed should solve the problem. Anyone agree / disagree with this?

Anther garage suggested it may be the filter (?) as I have not had it changed since I bought the car in March.

Thanking you in advance for any helpyou an give.

The first thing that you need is a proper code-read that produces intelligible codes.

The ECU losing it's memory of where it put the injectors is very common and should be explored before anything else. Changing sets of injectors went out with the Ark.

Go to a diesel specialist - very few places have the tools or knowledge to diagnose these accurately. To find the best place locally - ask a taxi-driver.

I have had one case of this in 125k miles, at around 65k miles, one injector was reprogrammed by the dealer, took about 20mins.

Many thanks to all you helpful people. I will probably try the reprogramming first and see what happens.
Any further advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again

Cause of your problem is a faulty sensor which senses the camshaft rotation and fires off the injectors at the correct time - cost new is approx £15 and takes 5 mins to change. Happened to me in France and garage could not find problem which was intermittent cut out of engine. Failed again back at home, renewed sensor and now OK.
