I've had a used Focus for over a year now which until the weekend hasn't had any mechanical problems.
The car unfortunately is now shaking when idle, and the engine warning light is lit on amber.... Read more

Hi
i have a 1.3 diesel 2013 and I’m having a bit of trouble with the engine. First of all once it’s driving for about 10 minutes, sometimes longer/sooner the noise off the engine changes completely. It turns into a more rough noise and when going up the revs there’s like a squeal noise, when this is happening it’s drinks the fuel.. once I turn the engine off the cooling fans will come on for around 5 minutes then power down, took it to a mechanic and he said it was the temperature control sensor and replaced it. That helped for maybe about a week but the noise returned. Hasn’t been using any more coolant than usual. Read more
The symptoms you describe ,are all part of the Dpf regeneration process. You need to get the engine oil level checked ,and if found to be over the max mark, get the oil and filter replaced and the engine management system interrogated for any fault codes relating to dpf system. Also check operation of the glow plug system.
Hi,
Perhaps I’m being really thick and also struggling after an over indulgent Saturday night but...trying to remove a Zafira A radiator fan, first torx bolt straight out, second one just turning and turning.
Left that one and moved on to the radiator itself,, two more torx bolts on the bumper side of the radiator. Same thing, turning and turning. Can’t even tighten them back up.
Any ideas how to get them out?
Thanks in advance. Read more
I thouight of spraying something sticky inside the box section, Maybe spray foam would be stiff enough to have held them.
Or even vegetable oil, (which I spray and paint around a lot anyway) though it takes a while to set.
Has anyone else watched this week's Grand Tour? A China theme this time. My conclusion is that anything MG looks fantastic against their home market stuff. Truly shocking lack of taste by European standards.
I’m sure one has a free bus pass, so no need to worry about one.
It’s a big step. No pun intended. Read more
I am stumped to think of a case where the prosecution of a 97 year old is ever in the public interest, seeing as the pressure and emotional turmoil in itself could hasten the end of someone's life. It was a relatively lucky escape, with minor injuries: a distraction and a moment's lapse in concentration could happen to any one of us. As Frankie Howerd used to say - "It could be one of your own!"
Wondering if there are any MCU fans here. Im a huge MCU fan. Read more
The Avengers movies kind of lost me around part 3 (whichever one contains the sentient machine (Jarvis?)). I don't recall him been brought to 'life' or the character been introduced at all. I probably missed a film along the way.
I think they made too many films, I would rather see Star Trek, at least most of the time its closer to reality, though I know it hasn`t got as many fans as The Avengers

Some Focus models have a coil pack and 4 leads, others have coil over plug system with 4 individual coils. It’s a lot cheaper to replace the plugs first before the other parts.
