Hi,
So I have just bought a used VW Polo 1.4 TDI (2014). It has 150.000 kms on the clock. I used it for a couple of days and got hit with an overheating alert ("Motor too hot. Stop"). I had the circulation engine replaced and it was just okay. I tested it a lot and the overheating problem was fixed.... Read more
I wrote off my bike yesterday morning near the junction of the A49 and A534, close to Beeston in Cheshire, due to a patch of spilled diesel. My riding gear did its job, just a broken little finger and scuffed/chafed knees to show for a 35mph-ish get-off. The bike unfortunately stopped sliding by hitting the kerb, damaging the frame and fuel tank beyond repair.
But while waiting for the recovery truck, I was humbled by the number of people who stopped and offered to help. My thanks especially to Luke, in a white Peugeot van, who gave me some wipes and plasters from his first aid kit; and to Steve in a silver Focus who first checked if I was OK, then 20 minutes later came back with a bottle of water and chocolate bar, completely unbidden. What a kind thing to do.... Read more

Wondered if anyone else had any experience of G5 Motors Ltd at Bedford.
I was interested in buying a car they were selling and during an initial telephone conversation they told me I could of course test drive the car. I then exchanged email correspondence with them, explaining that I had a very long way to travel so needed to agree a price beforehand, and that if the car was as described then I would make payment and drive the vehicle away. The email correspondence was laborious and frustrating as the sales person had a very limited command of the English language. ... Read more
Many thanks GB. I think that's all that needs to be said on this thread.
Keto Trim but you have to do a lot more work out than most people realise. To get rid of off an extra calories is typically an extra A couple of duration of cycling. And that's about two doughnuts." In my last material I described that the level of fat absorbed can have a huge effect on human body weight. I began to examine the root cause of my own human body weight trouble in the evening out unsuccessful to generate any weight-loss. I found that my calories per day was LESS than the recommended daily requirement.

Hi badbusdriver
many many thanks for that reply. i apologize i did forget to put my budget, as i will be financing the car so i guess around 9k would be my limit and i have a deposit of around £1500 to put down to bring the monthlies into an affordable bracket. searching around there are alot of diesels areound and a handful of 1.4 TSI's. given the mileage i think a petrol would be better in the long run, although i do like the performance of the diesels. as my current steed is not going to last long due to a considerable oil drinking problem, i feel this desicion is needed to be made soon. ...
I'm in the market for a used Fabia. For various reasons I've had to reject the few I've seen to date. I thought I'd finally found 'the one', that was until I looked underneath at the front and saw some oil on the underside. See the following pic:

I'd be grateful if someone in the know could give an opinion as to what the source of this oil might be and if i'd be best to reject the car because of it. Other than this issue the car ticks every box. Thanks Read more

Why buy a car with an obvious fault? If the oil leak could be fixed cheaply the dealer would probably have fixed it, the fact they haven't suggests it would be costly. There must be other Fabias which don't have this issue.
Hi all
As some of you know we have recently become the proud owners of a gorgeous German shepherd dog (GSD for short) puppy diesel. I started thinking will he fit in my new q3 so i contacted the breeder as she owns diesels half brother ( same dad different moms) so i asked if i could borrow him to test if an adult GSD male will fit in a q3 she was happy for me to borrow him so i took him to my dealer who was happy to help and just from looking at the boot i thought he would fit but nope he only just fitted but not much room for him to move around and i certainly could not fit a dog crate for diesel when he gets bigger. So my dealer recommended i try the Q5 since my circumstances had changed since ordering the Q3 so i did now just looking at the Q5 boot i thought it looks the same size , so rocco ( diesels half brother) jumped in and he had enough room to fit and i can fit the right size crate in the boot. I then test drove the q5 and its comfy and quite. My dealer said there are great deals on the Q5 too. So i picked an S line model again and in total it came to £42k and they then gave me a good deal and took off £3k so my total price was £39k i just had to pay £1k towards it as they used the £38k i had already paid for my Q3.... They make excellent cheap family motors. £1,000 is enough to buy a half decent one.
Re HJ agony column this week a contributor advises standing the cars tyres on carpet to help prevent the tyres flat spotting over time. What could be the science in this as surely gravity will do its thing regardless of even the best Axminster! Read more
The carpet will spread the load a little bit, but overpressuring the tyre is best I think
Help please. I recently got code to unluck my Ford Cd6000 radio. Issue is I have to enter it every time I start van. I don’t have a manual, can anyone shed some light please?
Thanks in advance. Read more
For whatever the reason it would appear that the main power supply to the radio isn't being maintained when you turn off the ignition.
This could be caused simply by one of the multiplugs in the back of the radio having come loose or something more complicated like a wiring fault....
I've been debating between a Nissan Note and a Honda Jazz. I generally prefer the appearance of the note but the MOT history might throw me off. The consistent advisories are concerning me.

The advisories seem fairly mild, and probably due to an overzealous tester. But I am puzzled by the irregular dates of the tests - and another is 3 months overdue. What would that find? Make sure the seller gets a Pass before you consider buying.
As pointed out above, the seller should fix this, if the OP starts fiddling with it this compromises his case.
