Could this be a good business ?

Hot noisy thing, usually near the front. Smells oily.
Hi, for the past few weeks, my car has developed a strange power issue which I can't figure out.
The car is serviced annually, currently has around 55k on the clock and had a new battery around 6 months ago as the old one simply gave up and refused to charge.... Read more
The error you found might be from the drop of power and not the real problem.
I recomend you get the alternator checked out as this might be the problem. Had sort of the same problem on my car and all electrical went dead even if the engine was runnig wich suprised me since it was a common rail engine that worked without electrical power. Battery was shorted out and the same clinking noise was heard berfore all went dead. Noise had to do with charging regulator
Ahoy-hoy,
Looking for a used Qashqai in the near future, preferably from a dealer, and wanted to know if there are generally accepted 'best' times to buy, by which I mean most advantageous for the buyer. ... Read more
I have no axe to grind and no hidden agenda.... and I'm aware about what some (many?) say about French automotive technology - but is it still not worth considering a Dacia Duster if we're talking about depreciation and overall costs?
Even if the Audi (or BMW or Merc) did lose less in percentage terms, and it (they) may well, it's surely still likely to lose a considerable sum as it (they) cost quite a bit more than a Dacia ... maybe they'd lose a lot more more than the Dacia over a given period?...
Do I stick this in my fuel tank and will it make my car run any better?
I think this product will easily give me 100mpg in my V8!.

As you can see from previous posts, we need the serial number before we can give you the code. Either get this from the display on your unit, or pull it partially out of the dashboard to see the label.
Has anyone done this before? Probably same set up as Rover 200 400 216 214 416 etc
Can it be done by bashing out and a bit of filing grinding and bashing in again, ie a bodge rather than hub/bearings out?... Read more
If they let go and the wheel comes off you could be killed or kill an innocent passer by. The Police would investigate the vehicle and you would either go to jail or be dead.
My tip would be do the job properly.
Took the good lady's Forester XT in for MOT today, clean pass, apparently they still use a decelerometer on full time 4x4's (i did wonder if they had some sort of free wheel device for the other axle by now), bet he enjoyed a blast in the little pocket rocket.
Interesting the emission test results.... Read more
There was never a better writer about motoring than Leonard Setright. He waxed lyrical about Honda Preludes with 4WS, Golf GTIs (mk 2) and the way society changed because of the car. A great loss to automotive literature.
He also persuaded my family to look kindly upon Subaru so much so we ended up with three. ...
A very (un)helpful comparison!
Reads like a sales catalogue - no indication at all of whether the compiler of this list has actually tested any of these in the snow to judge which are the easiest to fit (in poor weather) and which give the best traction and drive-ability when roads are covered with snow and ice.... Read more
My 8 year old snow socks remain in the car as a talisman keeping the snow at bay ... but my question remains regarding the basis for HJ's "Good Garage Guide" recommendation - what value does a list like this have if the reporter hasn't tested and compared all the available makes before coming up with a useful "Top Ten"?

Agree 100% - it's a real shame that Jaguar's concept car which used a Bladon mini gas-turbine was never taken further. Turbines would be ideal for this sort of application because they run at high rpm (for good electricity output from a generator) and because it would be running at fixed rpm with no need for warm-up enrichment etc, it can burn the fuel very cleanly. ...
