Hi,
I ordered a new Leon about 7 or 8 weeks ago.
I was told the waiting time to receive the car would be around 10 or 12 weeks.
I contacted the dealer about 3 weeks ago, who was a bit vague and sort of said no new update on delivery.
Should I have received a specific build date and delivery time by now? Is the dealer being a bit vague on purpose or is this standard with Seat?
This is the first time I have bought a brand new car, so a bit in the dark myself. Any advice please. Thanks Read more
Hi, I am looking at the possibility of buying a van, to eventually convert (if money allows) into a camper van.
Initially I was thinking about buying a camper van, but then that would mean having two cars - ideally I want something I can use on a daily basis, commute to work, but also can use on a weekend to chuck some bikes in the back etc etc, cheap holidaying, cheap weekends away.... Read more
Absolutely tons of options but without knowing your initial budget to both buy the vehicle then convert it, it wouldn't be worth going into.
Hello fellow back roomers,
I'm taking the Mrs and Kids to Franch at the end of May, overnight Car Ferry to Le Havre, then staying in a place Legronne around Normandy. I'm going to be doing two long drives in the week to Disney land Paris (3.5 hours) each way (I know!!). So, the Mondeo is just approaching 10 years old, Full Service History and will be serviced the week before I go. Never had an issue with it.... Read more
Wikipedia lists service stops. More frequent than in UK but many are only picnic/wc stops and most of those with fuel don’t offer more than a coffee and sandwich: few as big as UK ones.
Back in the dim and distant past, when I was travelling in France, there were "Relais Routier" service areas which were for lorry drivers, but which had slap up three course, French long lunches. Beautiful cooking and an experience not to be missed. I suppose they are gone now but they were great in their day.
Oh dear, this should upset all the French haters on here!

Yep, loved my Alfasud 1.5ti Cloverleaf - shame it literally rusted before your very eyes. You could see it rust! Kept a dustpan and brush in the boot - still, it got faster and lighter until the inevitable catastrophic MOT failure.
Very sad. Vauxhall suddenly found its way again in the early 80s with the highly successful Cavalier mk2. Many seem to have a downer on the brand but they have always produced solid, honest cars. I can’t understand why cars like the Insignia have never sold in larger numbers. I have never owned or driven one but it looks a great car. My only criticism of Vauxhall is that their cars are expensive, but residuals are poor and in recent years that has always discouraged me from buying. I had a number of models in the 70s and 80s and my sons are still driving around in my late father’s 2003 Corsa with 130,000 on the clock and still going strong. Read more
My view on Vauxhall is that yes they are solid cars... I was going to buy the Astra Elite... leather interior etc, nice to drive, but compared to Ford Focus not a patch.
I had put a deposit down, but changed my mind, the outside of it looked boring in comparison to the Ford Focus i eventually bought,,, It was quite cheap as well , because i had my ford focus to part exchange ... which i loved a 60 plate for a 64 plate Vauxhall..
Ford are very innovative, comfortable seating, good technology , and plenty of zip , got a 1.5 tdci.. its the little things like cup holders, and room for your cds etc etc
Vauxhall need to wise up fast,,, otherwise they will get even less sales .

Good afternoon, I am conducting a survey on the automotive industry on the awareness of different car models in the UK. Could you kindly fill it out? It takes about 5/10 minutes.

Stefania - I'm the moderator on this forum. Just to say that you may not get very many replies, as we get a lot of links posted on here and many people don't want to take the risk of clicking on an unknown link.
I'm sure you're genuine, but we have had too many cases of people clicking on a link and allowing their system to be open to hackers.
The cambelt snapped leaving 4 inlet valves bent,my local garage replaced all the neccessary parts and engine runs ok however the idle speed has gone bonkers, running at 1800rpm then dropping to 500rpm sometimes stalling. My garage tells me that the ECU has to re learn and my idle should return to normal in a few days.Is this correct? for a car of this age to have "learning ability" Many thanks, Read more
If it did have a re-learn facility,(which I don't think it has),the system should settle down within 15-20 miles.More likely that something has not been put back correctly.Possibly an air or vacuum pipe (loads on this engine) or an electrical part not connected.
