Got a Seat Leon ST for work, 67 plate, and to my annoyance the built in satnav does not have up to date maps. It is missing the new sections of M8 leading into Glasgow and the A725 Raith Underpass which both opened in February 2017.
Does anyone else here have a Seat and do your maps seem out of date also? I've searched ponline and I seem to have the latest maps available which is very disappointing. It uses HERE maps. Read more
I use google maps rather than waze. Is there an advantage to Waze?
Probably very similar as Google have owned Wze for the last few years....
Is this a red light camera? The large black pole next to the street light with the unidentifiable box on top?

Hi all,
I noticed in the last few days the Golf was starting to fizz again when the turbo kicked in. Like when it was new. I noticed it doing it even before the turbo kicked in on acceleration. I gave it a boot in 2nd gear and total loss of power, judder and huge huge plums of white smoke out of exhaust, old engine light on and STOP on dash. I was a few minutes from home so managed to get home.... Read more
Thanks for the reply. It is the Oil level low light that is on not the engine light. In all the smoke and panic I hadn’t realised. Car resting till he gets here. Would the fizzing I heard been the start of the seal coming loose and then I just blew it away with a boot?
Would that have cause occasional loss of power symptoms previously, even a slight leak?
Hello, ran out of diesel trapped in a snow drift. Added fuel but clearly, the system needs to be primed. continuous cranking does not work.I looked at the handbook, but could not follow the diagramme as differs from my car.I contacted the dealer who after putting my reg into the computer explained there is a hand bladder style pump on fuel line at the timing belt side of the engine, look as I may I cannot locate this component, can anyone tell me if there are variations of the theme and if there is a different type or no pump fitted what is the best way to get fuel up to the manifold?Turning the key to the second position I do not hear a pump running in the fuel tank as expected, but cannot remember if it ever did before I ran out of fuel. thanks for looking, Mike. Or you could resort to "Small" squirts of easy start just to get it going.

Surely the main reason for the most ordered colours being black grey and white is because so many manufacturers do not offer anything else. When I bought my last car 3 years ago, red was the ONLY alternative to one of those or an almost black shade of another colour. Where were the blues, greens (including British Racing Green) yellows, and so on? Not available! If the manufacturers offered more interesting colours, doubtless many people would opt for them.
Fortunately the tide seems to be turning, and my latest car is a very pleasant shade of blue.
In December 2016 (warranty expired June 2016) I had a new clutch & flywheel fitted due to the clutch slave cylinder leaking. My Ford dealer reported the cause of the problem without delay & got me a 50% goodwill payment from Ford Motors.
My car is now back at the dealers & they report the clutch plate is worn down to the metal & the flywheel is also damaged, after just 9k miles & 12 months since the previous work done, but there is no sign of any fluid leakage. I am inclined to believe what they say.
Just my wife & myself drive the car & we each have over 40 years driving mainly in manual cars, are not heavy footed (but cannot prove it) & am at a loss to understand how a clutch can be destroyed completely in 9K miles. I can only think that the previous clutch replacement was not properly fitted (but cannot prove it)
Does anyone have any ideas as to the cause ?
I am going to be faced with a bill of over £1,000 & can only see if another goodwill payment is available.
Thanks

Hi all, would be really grateful for any advice.
Last week my windscreen washers stopped working- I can hear the pump working, the wipers moves as normal but there's no water. We think it may be clogged up with something and I wondered whether there was a) a method of flushing or b) anywhere I can find out how to drain the container that contains the wash fluid?... Where the pump sits in the bottom of the bottle, there is a plastic strainer that gets blocked up. Flushing with a hose may work,if not then the only real option is to access the bottle. Not a 5 min job.
