Do they have a certain amount of time to fix a fault? I had a recall for my airbags and I am still waiting on them getting the part in 2 years later. Read more

As the owner of a Vauxhall Zafira with yet another recal due to safety issues I cannot see how this cannot affect the resale value. I don't feel safe driving it with children and would simply not buy one now, I am sure there are many others like who feel the same......so unfair!

Firstly, you need to establish if this is clear rain water or coolant.

You mention 'topping up coolant'. If you are already doing that, it sounds like the heater matrix. If it's only rainwater I don't see why your car should be losing coolant - unless it is both of course, which seems unlikely? Also if the matrix has started to leak it's unlikely that your coolant will look 'clean' - does it look rusty or heavily discoloured?

Looking at a car for sister in law as you do. Found a 65 plate golf with 30K on the clock at £13000. Over 48m with a £2000 deposit (7000 miles a year) they have quoted £149 a month with 2 free services? Is this a good deal? Read more

No. Is it through a dealer like Car Shop that markets on weekly cost?. Aside from the borrowing cost, balloon payment etc the 7k mileage is absurdly restrictive.

The sticker price also looks pretty high though we'd need detail of model/trim/engine etc to be sure. ...

Hi guys.

I just aquired a 2003 1.6 focus. When its at about 1000rpm theres a vibration through the cars interior and from idle if you blip the throttle quickly tgere is a loud thumping noise. Does thos sound like a wearing engine/gearbox mount or something more sinister?... Read more

Coming out of thetford on the A134 you come to the A11 roundabout, it is a standard roundabout in that it has 4 exits, with the 4th going back to thetford. There are no road markings on the road, and 2 lanes marked up on the entry to the roundabout.

This is how google and bing maps show this particular junction.... Read more

Not sure if its still the law to do so, but in the not-so-recent past the siting of a speed camera (of any type) HAD to be preceeded (withim a certain distance on the stretch of road in question) by a sign denoting 'speed camera ahead' (you've seen them before). Similarly for Bus Lane Cameras and ones covering box junctions (none here).

I agree with the other response in that its more likely to be a general CCTV camera (odd looking though, even for a new one) or polution/weather monitor. My bet is on the former, especially as its mounted rather high up to get a clear view of number plates at a reasonable distance, and whose view could be easily obscured by other vehicles....

Just looked at a car ad on this site; just background for a future purchase.

Checking MOT, the car does not appear: nor does it appear on main DVLA site or europarts. At first I thought maybe it was previously on a cherished plate but that does not explain no DVLA listing as they have presumably given it the new number. Number, YR 10 ZVF, is in correct format: Yorkshire and 2010 car.... Read more

Strange this. I have a new car and DVLA have it registered. However, HJ can't find it so that I can add it to my vehicles on this site. Insurance companies can find it but not HJ. I queried it but no reason found.
