Hi all,

In another thread I mentioned buying a Polo, but consensus was Fabia was a much better option - long story short, I've found what (for me) seems the perfect car, except it's up in Scotland, and I'm yet to pass my test (3 weeks, fingers crossed!) down here in sunny Preston. :(... Read more

Congrats on passing the test! And for calming down and taking a cool look around.

No doubt others will comment on your shopping list.

We've had 3 Toyota Prius over 12 years, and the last was plug in for Company Car Tax efficiency.

They & our other Toyotas have all been excellent, reliable and free of any defect. The Prius has more leg room than Merc E or C class saloons, especially in the rear.... Read more

For what it's worth, my Mrs went recently from a Lexus IS300h to a C350e. The Lexus was the better car, better hybrid. More economical (by about 10mpg), better built, better engineered and no faff with plugging in. The C350 can't use fast charge points either. The Lexus just worked and was an integrated self contained unit. No contest

Those easy squirt canisters are a complete waste of time .An a/c system needs to be free of air and filled with an exact quantity of gas to work correctly. These quick fill devices do neither.Take it to an expert.

Yeah, this is a really good place to ask for advice.

I've made the decision to leave this one. Lesson learnt to look at the service history in much more detail!...

Hi
My van is daily 35s11 xlwb 2002 2.8 high top

I am not sure what it is called, but there is a unit on the van which detects how much weight the van caries, that is disconnected i have just loading the van to the maximum, my question is does it now always think it it is fully laden and therefore the brakes will work now fully on the back or will it think, as it is disconnected, that the van is empty and only break a little on the rear and mostly on the front, which would be bad and i am going to Scotland Sunday with no time to fix it.
any advice would be appreciated

Thanks Read more

Sat today at a traffic light controlled roundabout next to a massive Tesco and I'm waiting behind this little white hatchback when the lights go green. Four or five seconds pass and no movement is forthcoming so I give it a good honk on the horn - and the Jag's horn is loud!

I could see in their door mirror that the lady driving this hatchback was clearly on her phone - the giveaway was the looking downwards transfixed. Probably changing her Facebook status to 'at Tesco, LOL!'... Read more

Following on from thread last week about dodgy plates I spotted a cracker today on a family trip up north. I saw a 2013 320d with an English plate but with the "D" for Deutschland on it placed on the left hand side. The letters/numbers were also embossed so at a glance it looked like a car from Germany! What are the legalities around this one! Read more

I'm getting fed up of these vain people having to 'doctor' personalised plates to make their name or whatever and the police doing nothing. Some of the vehicles with these plates clearly need investigation as many also have illegal tinted front windows too.
