Does she do enough mileage to justify a DPF equipped diesel? and is she willing to spend good money to buy an approved used main dealer car with full dealer history and is willing to spend the money to continue this? If answer to either is no then don't touch.
Can anyone tell me if on the diesel turbo 2003 model Landcruiser only uses one of the batteries for starting the car or are they twinned in parallel. thanks. mike. Read more
They're in parallel. The old 80 series had the 24v starting, but not the newer ones.
A pretty good illustration of the influence of Tesla. Read more
Why does the engine output/displacement need to be displayed on a car? Other than for bragging rights and vanity?
Looks like you may not be able to have a cup of tea while charging the car, for a while anyway
It's 2017 and they still complain they don't have the resources to keep a road in one piece rather than collapsing in potholes so I don't think they'll be turning roads into chargers anytime soon.
Hi guys
Is there any kind soul who lives around the Merseyside area who would take payment of beer (or cash) in return for hooking my car up to thier VCDS to check my cam timing on my GT TDI 140 as I have a bit of a lumpy idle? I think the torsion value on the exhaust cam needs adjusting.
Cheers in advance. Read more
If your engine is not a PD (Pumpe Dùse) then what is it? You say the engine code is BKD and to the best of my knowledge that's a PD. Common rail engine codes have four letters starting with a 'C'. The valve timing on your engine is fixed, not variable. The injection timing is variable and is controlled by the ECM when the engine is running as stated earlier. The injection pump on a CR engine is driven by the engine but is not timed to it. It does not matter where the pump pulley is when fitting a cam belt on a common rail, but of course the camshaft and crankshaft pulleys must be locked in their respective positions, and the belt correctly tensioned. There will be no Torsion figure on a CR engine because it doesn't apply.
As for your engine vibration perhaps you should check the air intake system for build up of heavy carbon deposits from the EGR valve to the cylinder head. Removal and manual cleaning is really to only way to clean it. Also you could have a worn Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF).
Hello everyone. A 22 year old work colleague of mine, has just started driving after four years of holding a licence - he's currently on his mum's insurance, but would like a car of his own. He has his heart set on a Subaru, but that's not going to happen, is it?!
Are there any options that look a little sportier, but still low insurance? ... Read more
Just tell him to make sure he's got plenty of money spare for repairs and that he should make sure there's a good public transport service in his area!
Hi,
I have 2004 Ford Fiesta Finesse 3dr (86k miles, 12 month MOT, 1 previous owner). My baby is due in November so i want to exchange for 5dr car.... Read more
My suggestion is the ford fusion. It is like a fiesta but a bit bigger inside and a bit taller. Your £2k budget will get you into a 2007/8 1.4 petrol with reasonable miles (up to 70k). We had one for 3 years and i still miss it. The new honda jazz we now have is the only car with a similar amount of interior space in relation to its physical size. In my view, a very under rated, very practical small car.

Advice please my dearest gurus,
Family of five, I'm looking to get a Volkswagen (possibly polo), however I'm not entirely sure which is the best one to get. Could I ask you all for your advice my budget is up to £2000. I'm not looking for a speed Demon, or something to live in, however I'm not a small girl I'm 6 foot so everybody needs to fit in. I do believe that everything, if there's anything more you need to know I shall return and answer any questions, I look forward to your experienced advice.
Thank you chaps, Cut loose :) Read more
As said above Fiesta is a really great option! My local dealer's seem to have lots, they're so popular. i think mainly because theyre so reliable and spacious, maybe look at the ecoboost one i've heard they're good! Also read lots of reviews, the ones on Honest john has done are great! If you're buying from a dealer look them up on trustpilot - you can never to sure.
This does not use Google Maps for navigation or traffic, it uses Here Maps. It uses Google Maps purely for location references (ie you search for a place and it uses Google Maps as a reference point with Here Maps for routing and traffic) - as an aside, Navdy forums are full of people asking for Google Maps or Waze integration for routing and traffic as Here is nowhere near as good. The teams of highly-educated specialists with budgets measured in billions at GM, Ford, Toyota, VW, etc., were too stupid to think of this, and now some guy who isn't even a chemist pottering around in his garage has shown them how to do it. Makes you proud to be British!
