If you must have a Megane, then go for the 1.6 petrol.Fairly durable engine apart from the normal ignition coil failures. Also important to ensure the cambelt has been replaced. Don't forget the standard eletrical gremlins of windows not working correctly along with heater blower and rear lights .

A nice idea, but I can only see this being relevant to a small group of buyers; namely those who want to downsize and don't care about depreciation.

Shame it doesn't apply to used cars within a certain price range. Read more

"The offer will run until the end of the year and is available on all new Fords."

That isn't what it says on their website, there is no mention whatsoever of any figures for the new Mustang, Ka or Edge.

"One of the most useful features is the camera's parking, which switched the camera on the moment the built-in G sensor detects an impact"

Is there a typo here ? I just cannot understand this sentence at all. Read more

I have just purchased a five month old, Astra 1.4 auto Elite.

Either the horn supplied is awful, or only a single one. Does anybody know the answer to this without invalidating the warranty?... Read more

Many thanks, but I have been in touch with Vauxhall today, who took a good deal of time to help me. They assured me it would invalidate my warranty, as fitting an Insignia dual horn is not recognised by them, as a suitable modification for the Astra.

They also said that damage to the harness could be the result, of carrying out this modification, so I will just have to put up with the atrocious horn!!

So I took the delivery of the car today :-)

The dealer had demoed with the 145ps petrol and diesel cars. I am sure the torque progression on the 145ps petrol is pretty similar to 165ps but I must say, the 165 with the heavier 19 inch wheels is a different ride !...

The clutch in my 08 civic has packed in and I've been informed it's likely the DMF, including Labour that's around £1000

The car is probably worth a tad over 2k so I've been advised to get rid as it is and buy another car.... Read more

If you do replace the clutch make sure the concentric slave cylinder is part of the kit. They can and do fail and its a gearbox off job again if it does. Cheap whilst the clutch is being replaced

Hi,

I was in the passenger seat with swmbo last night when I noticed her driving style with the clutch seemed unusual. We drive on a 70mph road before coming to a roundabout and taking the 3rd exit, so slowing right down. About 150 yards out from the roundabout she put her foot on the clutch, soon after put car into 2nd and then left foot on clutch all the way until she was hafway around the roundabout.... Read more
