Whereabouts is the sender unit in the gearbox for the speedometer on the above vehicle, as I have an intermittent problem with it stopping and starting.
Is there any way I can test the sender unit?

I think that would be best. Thank you for all your help.
Temperature gauge has always sat just under 90*, now sits around 75 but can move up to old position if stuck in traffic for some time. Don' t think fan works now but have never been stuck in mega traffic - falls back quite quickly once on move again. Heater works as normal, now gauge under 75 in frosty mornings. Looks to me as sender fault affecting gauge and fan? Everything else appears normal. What is best plan. Auto electrician? Read more
Thermostat? May be electric on this model.

I have a diesel picasso, 2004 but the old shape.
A couple of years ago the engine cover managed to break and sheer off a little valve cap off the right side of the engine and set the warning for low coolant. We bought a whole new piece and bolted it back in place and I topped the coolant up with water (naughty I know!). Right, this lasted a year and then the piece started to leak where it was bolted down so I would need to top back up every week (again using water). So we bought another replacement piece and a new little rubber gasket/ washer for it. Its been about a month and its started leaking again! Its coming out the same place as last time, whetr the piece is bolted down. I beleive the piece is pat of the thermostat housing? I might be wrong! Anyway, any ideas why or how I can stop it? The part isnt expensive BUT it makes the car useless for long trips juat incase it goes and I dont really want to be buying one every month. Could it be because its more water than coolant in the system? ... Read more
First off, coolant isn't just coolant. It contains rust inhibitors and antifreeze, for example. As such, ideally it should be changed every few years - in my opinion, probably every 3 years (though I'm now going to be waiting for some troll to say they've not changed the coolant on their car since 1974, and it's fine). So you may well find that the old coolant is now mostly water. Not really somewhere you want to be as you hit winter and sub-zero temperatures (remember the bit about antifreeze in the coolant).
Also, look at how you fitted the new gasket, and took off the old one. You need to ensure that the metal surfaces are clean, so getting off all traces of the old gasket, before fitting the new one. In addition, use a gasket sealing compound....
Shogun was chosen by the importer as having the right "image". Mitsubishi was imported by the Colt Car Company ( or its successors ) when the Shogun was launched and not by Mitsubishi themselves.
Son had car this year it had it`s first mot recently on friday son came home from work and he noticed car was struggling on inclines.

He ran number on his warranty they came out and also diagnosed gear box problem they towed the vehicle away.... Read more
To start with, your son needs to READ, IN FULL the warranty terms and conditions. Only then will he (or you) know what his 'rights' are.
You say it is a Corsa C, but you also say that it's just had it's first MOT. The Corsa C was built from 2000-2006, so that can't be right....
Hi
I don't have remote central locking. I have just had a new key made for my car as the old one snapped. They key turns the ignition and can lock the car, but not unlock. I will take the key back tomorrow but just wondering if anyone had any ideas? It would be really inconvenient if I can't get in untill tomorrow.... Read more
You could get a new lock barrel made up that might help.
My wife has a 54 plate Avensis that has been a really solid car, but she's injured her knee and it's going to be long term enough that she will need something with cruise control for longer journeys.
There isn't going to be a lot of cash to throw at this - pretty much what the Avensis is worth so just over a grand - so I know options may be limited, but what would you guys suggest? Read more
Shame. We tried a Xsara Picasso today. Ali really liked it and I couldn't find much to fault it, but the suspension was a question. It went over a pothole and didn't sound great. I understand that this can be a problem with these?

Just accessed it myself with no problems whatsoever! (Running Kaspersky and Super Anti-spyware)
