Hello there!
I recently purchased a 2006 Ford KA. Lights on the dash were out so we checked the fuses but in doing so, this re set the radio. It is now locked and won't work without a code. I have looked everywhere around the car and in the manual and cannot find it. I have the serial number, which is M039398.... Where can I gain the code for this radio?
Many thanks, Read more

As per the title...I have a Nokia with buttons and that's it. I use it with, what used to be called, "Ikea Family Mobile". It's now just "Family Mobile" and is connected to EE . It's PAYG at 9p a min with texts at 4p. My credit card recharges the balance below £10 so I don't have to do anything. It suits my low mobile phone usage and even lower text usage.

However, it's sometimes a bit frustrating when out and wanting to check something that, if at home, I'd have been able to look up (I don't have an iPad or anything other than a Windows desktop PC) which, in my ignorance, is OK .... Read more

Point taken re. XP, Mike. TBH I'm very conscious of it being out of date. I suppose I must admit to awareness of the increased susceptibilty to unpleasantness creeping in the back passage but guess I rely on AVG and Malwarebytes to keep them at bay and try not to open unwise attachments etc. It has to be said that Firefox slowed down and down over time and accrued glitches to the point where it was a PITA to use - so started using Chrome which (for me) is hugely quicker and glitch free. Internet Explorer wasn't an option as it won't run it's latest version on XP, whereas Chrome seems to.

In reality I'm just waiting/hoping for the PC to develop a fault which would write it off and then I could have a new machine with the latest Windows. Although maybe I'm hoping it'll last until the new Windows is issued?? I gather this might be 8.2 (Ithink) or maybe it'll be 9? I'm no expert (as you well know)....

As elekie says, check the fuse holder itself.

Always worth looking in the Haynes at where the earth points are and checking them for corrosion/loose connections too

Check the bonnet switch, and make sure the bonnet is firmly closed. On many cars the wipers and washers cannot be operated with the bonnet open.

My saab starts every morning going to work and every night when I go home. When I stop on way home to pick kids up etc sometimes it won't start. If I leave it for 10 minutes it starts. I've had battery checked and it read as good as new one.
It wouldn't start last night so my brother gave me a jump start. It wouldn't start until he revved engine for a good few minutes.
There are no warning lights on at all.

Thanks for any advice I need it! I love my car and I never have much luck! Read more

I bee missguided by a pal and have replaced the pre-converter to my CRV instead to replace the right DPF ; the problem - light glow in the dash board - occured a while ago when the engine lost power and I have been to dealer and have performed the regeneration but didn´t last much - 1919km only . City driving short distances got me the dpf light again , when I decided to replace the dpf with a new one ; I did not do it with the dealer due to high price but with an authorized workshop ; It has been removed the right part ( the DPF by the mechanics) but following my pal instructions ( he was working 7 years with Honda as car mechanic ) I told them , "this is not the dpf " - I meant the part of the exhaust that has two small pipes attached - and also " I want you to remove for me this part because that´s the DPF (??) " and , due to the fact the mechanics of that workshop do not face every day such cars (situations ) they have removed what I asked them do do ; and that was pre-converter - catalytic convertor - ...

Afterward I been to Honda dealer in order to reinitialize "the new Dpf " and over there I found out The Big Error ! They cleaned one more time , and wrote on the invoice : <customer claimed DPF replaced ; the pre-converter was replaced ; performed cleaning of DPF > ... Read more

a little completion over here ;
-as I said there were manufactured two of these CRV types looks like according with the exhaust displayed on the motor parts details on the site I have checked out from Xena ; So over there in UK were not sold CRV vehicles with DPF equipped - but in the rest of Europe ; this car I have bought it from Germany back in 2008 and I have imported to Norway .
- another and last point was , I will never sell this car due to this issue ; CRV of this model and yes with the brilliant diesel engine , makes it a very robust and reliable car - comfortable for commuting as with utility activities as well .
I use to have an Accord about many years ago and even I have used that car over 7 years never had any issue ,never any leaking or complain over ; I exchange it with a Passat and with some extra cash and then I got trouble for all the period I drove that WV , till I sold it and never want a german car again : there is a word over here : the germans they make very comfortable cars :-))

Again thanks to all .

Honest John got away with 9l unleaded into a 60l diesel tank. What about 20.49 litres of BP Ult unleaded into a 95L ML tank. It was 3/4 full with diesel already and put in the unleaded, stopped when mistake recognized and topped to brim with 10.59l BP Ult derv. Internet says can add some engine oil as well....? how much would you say. So if i top up many times with Shell V power diesel at 3/4 full might I be OK?....how long should I do this for?......also should I add any other additives? Thanks. Read more

My wife managed to fill up a Nissan Navara with petrol a few years ago, didn't realise. About 3 miles later it conked out. The bill was in the region of £6k - fortunately, this was when these incidents were a bit more rare, and it was still covered by the insurance (thankfully).

I've known someone who did the same on a TDV8 Range Rover. The bill in that case was closer to £10k....

Eventually, over time, I've found the file system on cards can become corrupted. Especially if you fill it up with pics, cut/paste them onto computer, and repeat that process.

I tend to reformat cards whenever I take data off them now. Since I started doing that, I haven't had a single problem - though that could just as readily be good fortune, rather than good practice.
