Hello, I have a 2003 Citroen C5 2lt Hdi which has been great until last winter when it just wouldn't start. The engine seems to turn over but won't "catch". I had heater plugs/filters checked and even bought a new Bosch battery with a 5 yr guarantee, which tests OK. The problem seems worse in extreme temperatures i.e. very hot or very cold. Dont'know alot about diesel engines but seems like poor compression? Fuel starvation? Fuel pump seals? Once the engine is started it drives perfectly...... All suggestions welcome. Thanks. Read more
I am having difficulty starting my car in the resent cold whether. When i turn the ignition the car cranks slowly struggling to start but usually does start. Once it has started it will start fine for the rest of the day even if i turn the engine staight off after the initial start and restart it. It only struggles in the morning when the engine is cold say 10c or below.
i thought it might be the battery so i got a new heavy duty one for the picasso but the problem remains.... Read more
Well got the car back and they have replaced the started motor, it now starts without any problems. Thanks for all your advice.
My car radio says I need to put on a code I don't know what the code is but the serial number is m059295..can anyone help?? Read more

I've been getting my ABS light on and off for a while now.
I have had all breaks done track rod ends done and i needed a new vanbelt and took out the aircon and a pulley that the van belt connected onto as that was the only way the mechanic said he could do it.....
long story short the light has never went off i spent £400 on it already getting things done and now this anti pollutin fault light came up today the car was driving very slowly
what does this mean?

Anti pollution fault, most common cause of this is the MAF sensor. Over time the internals rust away and it then goes into limp.
Buy a genuine or second hand genuine bosch one. Copied parts don't work on these as I have found....

Yes, there is. But the OP has stated that the door is working from both sides.
Hi all I recently bought a 58 plate passat 2.0 tdi, the problem is that when I go to change gear from 1st to 2nd I get a big jolt when I dip the clucth. The problem seems to be when the engine is cold and eases as the engine warms up though not totally gone. As i'm new to owning a vw i don't know if this is a common issue or not or is it just cause the engine is cold or is it just me releasing the clutch too quick? although I don't think it's that. I have looked a bit on the net but i cant really find anything other than the engine mounts or the gearbox oil could either need topping up or its the wrong one. Harrogate police are appealing for information after the entire braking system was stolen from a Volkswagen Golf which was parked in Back Unity Grove in the Skipton Road area.

Twenty years ago I remember a colleague going to his Volvo 480 one morning to find the bonnet and various engine components missing. I have also known of a Transit which had the enigne and gearbox removed - no doubt to replace one in an older model....

hi i bought a zafira about a month ago.
Today it wont start. the engine is not trying to tick over. when u turn the key there is nothing apart from the time display going out. The dashboard lights which remain on are the oil, battery, handbrake and engine light and the petrol light flashes even though my wife put £10 in on friday and done about 6 miles since. My initial thought was the battery but the head lights seem bright and the electric windows go up and down with no loss of speed. If i try and turn the radio on it is asking for the radio code.... If the radio is asking for a code,then I would suspect the battery is in trouble.The noise from the power steering could be normal ,as the system is electric/hydraulic and may be the noise from the electric motor.

Dealt with quite a few of the HDI's and Love them but have their starting querks. Citroen / peugeot upped the starter motor KW's from 1.4 / 1/7 to 2 and that makes a huge difference. If they dont spin fast enough, takes a while for the fule pressure to build before the injectors open.
Sometimes a dragging Dual mass flywheel can slow them down, seen this on a 307 2.0 HDI. Started perfect after it was changed to a single mass flywheel....
